Generalized Polarimetric Entropy: Polarimetric Information Quantitative Analyses of Model-Based Incoherent Polarimetric Decomposition

IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 2021
Model-based incoherent polarimetric decomposition is a frequently used technique to analyze multilook data of polarimetric synthetic aperture radars (POLSARs). The purpose of this study is to analyze and compare different model-based incoherent polarimetric decomposition algorithms from the polarimetric information change aspect.

Modified polarimetric whitening filter for polarimetric SAR data

2013 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium - IGARSS, 2013
To preserve the power information in the output of polarimetric whitening filter (PWF), a modified PWF is proposed for polarimetric synthetic aperture radar (PolSAR) imagery. Besides minimizing the standard deviation to mean ratio, the modified PWF also requires its output closest to the original polarimetric vector in a minimum mean-square error sense.

On the preservation of polarimetric signatures and polarimetric texture signatures by fully polarimetric MAP filters

IEEE 1999 International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium. IGARSS'99 (Cat. No.99CH36293), 2003
The authors evaluate how fully polarimetric maximum a posteriori (MAP) speckle filters preserve the polarimetric power and texture signatures of textured targets. To this aim, such signatures are quantitatively compared to their counterparts in the MAP filtered polarimetric data.

Polarimetric mode of MIRAS

IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 2002
The L-band Microwave Imaging Radiometer with Aperture Synthesis (MIRAS), scheduled to be flown as single payload on board the European Soil Moisture and Ocean Salinity (SMOS) mission, has a very wide field of view and synthesizes narrow beams by means of two-dimensional (2-D) interferometry, the same concept used in radio astronomy.

Polarimetric Normal Stereo

2021 IEEE/CVF Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition (CVPR), 2021
We introduce a novel method for recovering per-pixel surface normals from a pair of polarization cameras. Unlike past methods that use polarimetric observations as auxiliary features for correspondence matching, we fully integrate them in cost volume construction and filtering to directly recover per-pixel surface normals, not as byproducts of ...
