Polarimetric calibration of PALSAR2

2015 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium (IGARSS), 2015
On May 24, 2014, ALOS2 was launched. ALOS2 is the follow-on satellite of ALOS and has the L-band Synthetic Aperture Radar (PALSAR2). PALSAR2 provides an image with the higher resolution(3m) and wider swath(50km) in high resolution mode as compared with the image of former L-band SAR (PALSAR).

Polarimetric SAR image classification employing subaperture polarimetric analysis

Proceedings. 2005 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2005. IGARSS '05., 2005
Polarimetric SAR image classification remains an important research area. Various methods continue to be developed for specific applications. High-resolution polarimetric SAR systems and advances in computational and data storage capabilities have revived interest in novel polarimetric analysis techniques.

Preliminary results of a new polarimetric decomposition based on polarimetric signatures

2014 IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2014
The polarimetric decomposition is one of the key steps of SAR data processing and analysing. Its aim is to obtain maximum information about different scattering mechanisms that occur within each resolution cell of radar image. Since now, there has been a several decomposition methods proposed in the literature. The most widely used are H/A/α, Yamaguchi,

Polarimetric and interferometric noise modelling

IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2003
In this paper, a noise model for the extended six dimensions covariance matrix used in polarimetric synthetic aperture radar (SAR) interferometry is proposed. This noise model is able to interpret interferometric, as well as polarimetric noise characteristics for the diagonal and non-diagonal elements of the covariance matrix.

Polarimetric Helmholtz Stereopsis

IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence
Helmholtz stereopsis (HS) exploits the reciprocity principle of light propagation (i.e., the Helmholtz reciprocity) for 3D reconstruction of surfaces with arbitrary reflectance. In this paper, we present the polarimetric Helmholtz stereopsis (polar-HS), which extends the classical HS by considering the polarization state of light in the reciprocal ...

Polarimetric Coherence Optimization as a Multidimensional Polarimetric SAR Signal Processing Tool

IGARSS 2018 - 2018 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2018
This paper summarizes a set of studies led on the topic of polarimetric coherence optimization for the coherent processing of stacks of polarimetric SAR images. It is shown that coherence maximization may be understood differently depending on the application at hand.

A Study on Polarimetric Correlation Coefficient for Feature Extraction of Polarimetric SAR Data

IEICE Transactions on Communications, 2005
This paper attempts to use the polarimetric correlation coefficient for extraction of the polarimetric features of the urban areas and the natural distributed areas from Polarimetric Synthetic Aperture Radar (POLSAR) data. There is a possibility that the polarimetric correlation coefficient can reveal various scattering mechanisms of terrains based on ...
