Circularly polarised reflectarray with linearly polarised feed
A design procedure for a circularly polarised (CP) reflectarray with linearly polarised feed is presented. It is validated by simulation and experiment results that exhibit the cross-polar level of −20 dB at the designed frequency, and −10 dB in 14% bandwidth. This type of CP reflectarray can be used as a good substitution for those with a CP feed.

Polarised neutron scattering from dynamic polarised nuclei 1972–2022
AbstractWith the inauguration of the small-angle instrument D11 of the Institute Laue–Langevin (ILL) in September 1972 neutron scattering revolutionized methods of contrast variation. Very soon D11 was oversubscribed by proposals relying on isotopic substitution of hydrogen isotopes.

A surprising method for polarising antiprotons
We propose a method for polarising antiprotons in a storage ring by means of a polarised positron beam moving parallel to the antiprotons. If the relative velocity is adjusted to $v/c \approx 0.002$ the cross section for spin-flip is as large as about $2

Real Convergence and Integration [PDF]
The study is based on the critical observations that competitive market forces alone are not able to assure convergence with the developed countries.

Polarisation holding in long-length polarising fibres
The polarisation-holding ability of two long-length polarising fibres of different design is examined. Each polarising fibre exhibits a polarisation extinction ratio per unit length comparable to or better than that of the best corresponding polarisation-holding fibre.

The Geography of Employment Polarisation in Britain [PDF]
This paper investigates the regional and subregional patterns of employment polarisation in Great Britain. Extending recent econometric evidence for employment polarisation at the national level, the focus of analysis is to examine the geography of this ...

We present and experimentally demonstrate a seismic ambient noise monitoring optical fibre sensor for early warning detection of sinkholes. The developed optical fibre sensor is designed for warning alert of subsidence and cover collapse sinkholes.

Physico-chemical characterization of Al2O3/Ti6A4V type thermal barrier systems
Al2O3 alumina deposits were deposited on Ti6A4V titanium alloy substrates by rf-PVD at different substrate polarizations 0V, -50V, -100V and without polarization (wp). SEM images, at the surface of the deposits, showed a very good substrate coverage with

This paper examines the effect of income polarisation on individual health. We argue that polarisation captures much better the social tension and conflict that underlie some of the pathways linking income disparities and individual health, and which ...
