YIPFα1A expression is regulated by multilayered molecular mechanisms
YIPFα1A, a five‐pass Golgi protein, is regulated at multiple layers. (1) Rare‐codon enrichment drives translation‐coupled mRNA decay. (2) A proximal 3′‐UTR element stabilizes mRNA. (3) A distal 3′‐UTR element included by alternate poly(A) site usage represses translation, which can be overridden by the proximal 3′‐UTR element.

Spectrally narrow polarisation conversion in a slow-light photonic crystal waveguide [PDF]
A narrow-band (3 dB bandpass < 2 nm) transmission notch based on polarisation conversion within a SOI photonic crystal waveguide is demonstrated. Signal contrast between quasi-TE and TM eigenstates exceeding 40 dB is achieved.

Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...

A spin flipper for reversal of polarisation in a thermal atomic beam [PDF]
Schröder W, Baum G. A spin flipper for reversal of polarisation in a thermal atomic beam. J.Phys. E. 1983;16(1):52-56.By using the method of diabatic passage, we developed a spin flipper which allows a rapid and convenient reversal of the atomic spins ...

Physico-chemical characterization of Al2O3/Ti6A4V type thermal barrier systems
Al2O3 alumina deposits were deposited on Ti6A4V titanium alloy substrates by rf-PVD at different substrate polarizations 0V, -50V, -100V and without polarization (wp). SEM images, at the surface of the deposits, showed a very good substrate coverage with

Pharmacological inhibition of PERK in a DEN‐induced mouse model of liver cancer does not reduce tumor burden but alters cellular stress signaling. Despite blocking PERK activity, downstream stress responses, including CHOP expression, remain active, suggesting compensatory mechanisms within the unfolded protein response that may influence tumor ...

Trends in Polarisation in Pakistan [PDF]
This study analyses the trends in polarisation in Pakistan, in its rural and urban segments and its provinces, at the micro level during the period 1992-93 to 2001-02. Estimations are made by using the Bossert-Schworm measure (2006).

POLARISATION INSENSITIVE HETERODYNE DETECTION USING POLARISATION SCRAMBLING
Practical coherent optical fibre transmission systems will have to be insensitive to the random polarisation changes introduced by the birefringent transmission medium and to date the techniques considered for achieving this are polarisation tracking receivers [1] and polarisation diversity receivers [2].

Polarisation and Disinformation in Brazil's COVID19 Vaccination Onset on X (former Twitter) [PDF]
In January 2021, Brazil had a critical moment in its battle against the COVID-19 pandemic, marked by the beginning of the vaccination campaign. The country, facing a high number of deaths and transmission, was a battleground for polarised discussions ...
