Circularly polarised antenna withswitchable polarisation sense
The authors present the design of a wideband circularly polarised antenna with switchable polarisation sense. The basic antenna is a circularly polarised aperture coupled patch antenna with a slot excitation located along the diagonal of a rectangular patch.

Conflict and polarisation on social media caused by the Russia-Ukraine War: The case of Ekşi Sözlük
There has been an increase in ideological and political polarisation in Türkiye. Society is divided into dichotomies such as modern-traditional, religious-secular, right-left, Turkish-Kurdish, and Sunni-Alawi; the distinction is not limited to these. The

Insect ventral radar cross-section polarisation dependence measurements for radar entomology [PDF]
Radar entomology has developed such that routine long-term monitoring of insect flight through the atmospheric boundary layer is now practical. Typical entomological radars use X-band (9.4 GHz) marine transceivers with a vertical pencil beam and rotate ...

Economic convergence and polarisation: towards a multi-dimensional approach
The current increase of regional inequalities in Europe, and in particular in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) has led to the reconsideration and revival of the concepts of "polarisation" and "convergence" in academic fields like regional economics ...

The mostly theoretical viewpoint, in which light is understood in terms of its singularities – caustics, phase vortices and lines of circular and linear polarisation – was developed in Bristol in the 1970s and 1980s.

SU(2) symmetry of coherent photons and application to Poincaré rotator
Lie algebra is a hidden mathematical structure behind various quantum systems realised in nature. Here, we consider SU(2) wavefunctions for polarisation states of coherent photons emitted from a laser source, and discuss the relationship to spin ...

Fibre-optic polarisers and polarising couplers
The dispersion equation describing the planar waveguiding properties of a thin metal film sandwiched between two dielectrics was used to predict the conditions for polarisation selective coupling from an optical fibre to surface plasmon polaritons. The conditions predicted by the analysis and those found by experiment were in close agreement and the ...
