Switching the magnetically induced polarization of Co4Nb2O9 by dielectric-relaxation-related internal electric field

Applied Physics Letters, 2017
The possibility of switching the magnetically induced polarization (MIP) in magnetoelectric antiferromagnet Co4Nb2O9 by a dielectric-relaxation-related internal electric field was investigated. The MIP at a lower temperature is more difficult to be reversed, and this can be explained based on the Landau-Ginzburg-Devonshire theory as well as the domain ...

Relation between internal conversion coefficient and electron density at the nucleus for spin polarized Fe electrons

Hyperfine Interactions, 1980
An ICC computation for the 14.4 keV transition in57Fe has been made using relativistic wavefunctions derived from spin polarized UHF wave functions of atomic iron. It is shown that ICC and electron density at the nucleus are proportional for polarized s electrons as has been found already for unpolarized electrons.

Group Polarization and Exogenous Preferences: Some Implications for International Relations

SSRN Electronic Journal, 2013
Group polarization, or the progressive segregation of a population into two oppositional groups, appears to be happening in parts of the Muslim world; in some places Sunni and Shia are polarizing, and in others, Islamists and secularists. Group polarization is in fact evident in many times and places and (1) may spread transnationally and (2) may ...

Greenland's new legislation on commercial and research-related use of biological resources: implications for the International Polar Year and later

Polar Record, 2008
ABSTRACTNew possibilities for economic development have been identified by the Greenland Home Rule Government in recent years. One of these is the potential for development of biotechnology based on Greenland's biodiversity. To ensure that Greenland shares in benefits derived from the exploitation of these resources the Home Rule Parliament recently ...

Analytical Study on Balkan Wars: The Polarization of the International Relation, from Allies to Enemies, on the eve of the First World War

International Journal of Digital Research
The research investigates what historical events caused the Ottoman Empire to fight against Balkan nations seeking independence from their domination. The writing outlines the path of combat during the war, while also analyzing how the Balkan Wars influenced both regional areas and international diplomacy leading up to World War I.
