Conformational Dependence of Isotropic Polarizabilities [PDF]
We perform a statistical and energetic analysis of atomic polarizabilities obtained with the LoProp approach for all atoms in the avidin tetramer for 70 snapshots from molecular dynamics simulations with seven different biotin analogues, and from the crystal structure of the photosynthetic reaction center (in total 560 698 individual polarizabilities).

Unraveling the epigenetic code in cancer cell–tumor microenvironment crosstalk
Epigenetic regulation is a key driver of cancer development and progression. Diverse epigenetic alterations in cancer cells and components of the tumor microenvironment (TME) orchestrate their communication through multiple mechanisms. We discuss how the epigenetic code coordinates bidirectional cancer cell–TME crosstalk to promote cancer progression ...

The VHL tumor suppressor at the crossroad of protein folding, aggregation, and cancer
Mutations, environmental stress, and chaperone dysfunction can destabilize pVHL, promoting its conversion from the native folded state into amyloid‐like assemblies. This transition may contribute to protein storage, cell dormancy, survival, and drug resistance.

Taxanes are widely used chemotherapeutics whose effects on cellular mechanics remain poorly understood. We show that paclitaxel induces rapid cellular contraction by promoting GEF‐H1 dissociation from microtubules and non‐muscle myosin II activation through RhoA/ROCK.

Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐

Uncovering G Protein‐Coupled Receptors: Novel Targets and Biomarkers for Predicting Glioma Prognosis
ABSTRACT Background Low‐grade gliomas (LGG) exhibit significant heterogeneity and recurrence risk. G protein‐coupled receptors (GPCR) contribute to glioma malignant progression, but their prognostic value remains unclear. This work attempts to formulate a GPCR‐based outcome‐predicting model for LGG. Methods Based on TCGA LGG data, the enrichment scores

Compression, interpolation, and importance sampling for polarized BRDF models
In this work, the KAIST Mueller measurement database is compressed by assuming a triply degeneracy (TD) in the Cloude coherency eigenspectrum. This assumption compresses the database by a factor of two by reparameterizes the database into eight ...

Systemic sclerosis (SSc) is a rare autoimmune disease defined by immune dysregulation, vasculopathy, and progressive fibrosis of the skin and internal organs. Despite advances in care, major complications such as interstitial lung disease (ILD) and myocardial involvement remain the leading causes of morbidity and mortality.
