Planar Solid‐State Nanopores Toward Scalable Nanofluidic Integration Based on CMOS Technology
We present a scalable silicon‐based fabrication strategy for planar solid‐state nanopores to enable their integration with complex nanofluidic systems. Prototype devices demonstrate normal voltage‐current characteristics, good noise performance, and appreciable streaming currents. Our CMOS‐compatible fabrication process offers precise geometric control

Polarization, inequality and growth: The Indian experience [PDF]
We analyze polarization in India roughly in the past two and half decades using consumption expenditure data. We show that both bipolarization and multidimensional polarization (on several dimensions: caste, rural-urban, state, region) have increased ...

An essential component of future quantum networks is an optical switch capable of dynamically routing single-photons. Here we implement such a switch, based on a fiber-optical Sagnac interferometer design.

Polarization-independent gain in mid-infrared interband cascade lasers
We have calculated the gain function of a type-II W-design AlSb/InAs/GaAsSb/InAs/AlSb quantum wells to be used in an active region of interband cascade lasers, for two linear polarizations of in-plane propagating light: transverse-electric and transverse-

A distinct semi‐confined inner‐tube chemical vapor deposition geometry enables reproducible, large‐area growth of phase‐pure 2D β′‐In2Se3 from InI + Se precursors. Engineering local vapor transport and optimizing precursor delivery and temperature–time conditions yield uniform continuous films.

Polarization-independent infrared micro-lens array based on all-silicon metasurfaces.
The long-wavelength infrared (LWIR) micro-lens arrays, as one of the important components in wafer level thermal optics, have been applied for wavefront sensing, beam shaping, integral imaging, and other thermal optical applications.

Shellac, a centuries‐old natural resin, is reimagined as a green material for flexible electronics. When combined with silver nanowires, shellac films deliver transparency, conductivity, and stability against humidity. These results position shellac as a sustainable alternative to synthetic polymers for transparent conductors in next‐generation ...

Demo 24-05 Polarization by Reflection
Light waves can be polarized by reflection from a dielectric surface, as shown in Figure 1. The amount of polarization depends on the angle at which the light strikes the surface, with the maximum effect occurring at an angle called the Brewster angle,
