Polarization-Insensitive Concentric Circular Grating Filters Featuring a Couple of Resonant Peaks

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2015
We demonstrate here guided mode resonance (GMR) concentric circular grating filters (CCGFs) on an HfO2-on-silicon platform. The fabricated devices are realized with a membrane structure by completely removing the silicon substrate beneath the HfO2 device

Polarization insensitive symmetrical structured double negative (DNG) metamaterial absorber for Ku-band sensing applications

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2022
Metamaterial absorber (MMA) is now attracting significant interest due to its attractive applications, such as thermal detection, sound absorption, detection for explosive, military radar, wavelength detector, underwater sound absorption, and various ...

Graphene-based polarization insensitive rasorber with tunable passband

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2019
In this paper, a frequency-selective dual-polarization rasorber with absorption-transmission-absorption response is presented. The transmission window could be tunable when the chemical potentials of graphene loaded on the proposed rasorber are changed ...

Polarization-insensitive dual-wavelength dispersion tunable metalens achieved by global modulation method

open access: yes, 2023
SF$_6$ is widely used as a gas-insulator in high-voltage power electrical system. Detecting SF$_6$ leaks using unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)-based thermal cameras allows efficient large-scale inspections during routine maintenance.

Polarization-Independent Filter Based on 2-D Crossed Grating Under Oblique Incidence

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2018
The existing polarization-insensitive filters based on two dimensional (2-D) grating are mostly under normal incidence. However, in filtering optical devices, the normal incidence regime is usually avoided because it requires the use of beam separators ...

Graphene-Metamaterial Based Tunable Broadband Polarization Insensitive Absorber for Terahertz Antenna Design

open access: yesIEEE Access
The advent of graphene has opened new avenues for the design of high-performance metamaterial devices, particularly in the realm of electromagnetic absorption applications.

Polarization insensitive phase modulator for quantum cryptosystems

open access: yesOptics Express, 2006
In this paper, we propose a polarization-insensitive phase modulation scheme based on frequency modulation of light waves using either one or a pair of acousto-optic modulators. A stable Sagnac quantum key distribution (QKD) system employing this technique is also proposed.

Polarization-Insensitive and Broadband Optical Power Splitter With a Tunable Power Splitting Ratio

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2017
In this paper, we propose a novel tunable power splitter based on symmetric Mach–Zehnder (MZ) structure to achieve the polarization-insensitive and broadband performance.

Highly Efficient Polarization-Insensitive Grating Couplers on Thin-Film Lithium Niobate with an Integrated Gold Layer

open access: yesPhotonics
The thin-film lithium niobate platform, which is emerging as a promising photonic integration platform, currently lacks a polarization-insensitive grating coupler (GC), a crucial component for polarization-independent fiber interfaces.

Polarization-insensitive electro-optic modulator based on thin-film lithium niobate multimode waveguide [PDF]

open access: yesAPL Photonics
We demonstrate a polarization-insensitive electro-optic (EO) modulator based on x-cut thin-film lithium niobate (TFLN), employing capacitively loaded traveling-wave (CLTW) electrodes on an undercut-etched silicon substrate.
