Erythropoietin modulates hepatic inflammation, glucose homeostasis, and soluble epoxide hydrolase and epoxides in high‐fat diet‐induced obese mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Erythropoietin administration suppresses hepatic soluble epoxide hydrolase (sEH) expression, leading to increased CYP‐derived epoxides. This is associated with a shift in hepatic macrophage polarization characterized by reduced M1 markers and increased M2 markers, along with reduced hepatic inflammation, suppressed hepatic lipogenesis, and attenuated ...

Boron-10 lined RPCs for sub-millimeter resolution thermal neutron detectors: Feasibility study in a thermal neutron beam

open access: yes, 2018
The results of an experimental feasibility study of a position sensitive thermal neutron detector based on a resistive plate chamber (RPC) are presented. The detector prototype features a thin-gap (0.35 mm) hybrid RPC with an aluminium cathode lined with

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Terahertz broadband polarization converter based on the double-split ring resonator metasurface

open access: yesSN Applied Sciences, 2021
A terahertz broadband polarization converter based on the metasurface of a double-split ring resonator is proposed. The structural parameters of this device have been optimized in numerical simulations. The results show that in the frequency range from 0.

A SIMPLE DESIGN OF BROADBAND CROSS-POLARIZATION CONVERTER FOR THE THz FREQUENCY RANGE

open access: yesTạp chí Khoa học, 2023
A broadband and lightweight polarization converter is proposed for applications in the THz frequency region. The proposed design has a metasurface structure with the dielectric layer modified to a hollow structure to obtain a lightweight design.

Cutaneous Melanoma Drives Metabolic Changes in the Aged Bone Marrow Immune Microenvironment

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer, increasingly affects older adults. Our study reveals that melanoma induces changes in iron and lipid levels in the bone marrow, impacting immune cell populations and increasing susceptibility to ferroptosis.

High-Efficiency and Tunable Terahertz Linear-to-Circular Polarization Converters Based on All-Dielectric Metasurfaces

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
Terahertz polarization converter has drawn great attention for its properties of wavefront control in recent years. However, the low transmission efficiency of these converters remains a major obstruction to be resolved.

Observation of Young's Double-Slit Interference with the Three-Photon N00N State

open access: yes, 2010
Spatial interference of quantum mechanical particles exhibits a fundamental feature of quantum mechanics. A two-mode entangled state of N particles known as N00N state can give rise to non-classical interference.

Enhancing Corrosion Resistance and Mechanical Strength of 3D‐Printed Iron Polylactic Acid for Marine Applications via Laser Surface Texturing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Laser surface texturing significantly improves the corrosion resistance and mechanical strength of 3D‐printed iron polylactic acid (Ir‐PLA) for marine applications. Optimal laser parameters reduce corrosion by 80% and enhance tensile strength by 25% and ductility by 15%.
