Infinitesimal adjunction and polar curves [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of the Brazilian Mathematical Society, New Series, 2009
The polar curves of foliations $\mathcal F$ having a curve $C$ of separatrices generalize the classical polar curves associated to hamiltonian foliations of $C$. As in the classical theory, the equisingularity type ${\wp}({\mathcal F})$ of a generic polar curve depends on the analytical type of ${\mathcal F}$, and hence of $C$.

Electromagnetic field with constraints and Papapetrou equation

open access: yes, 2006
It is shown that geometric optical description of electromagnetic wave with account of its polarization in curved space-time can be obtained straightforwardly from the classical variational principle for electromagnetic field.

Artificial Intelligence in Systemic Sclerosis: Clinical Applications, Challenges, and Future Directions

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Systemic sclerosis (SSc) is a rare autoimmune disease defined by immune dysregulation, vasculopathy, and progressive fibrosis of the skin and internal organs. Despite advances in care, major complications such as interstitial lung disease (ILD) and myocardial involvement remain the leading causes of morbidity and mortality.

Base points of polar curves [PDF]

open access: yesAnnales de l'Institut Fourier, 1991
The base points of the system of polar curves of an irreducible algebroid plane curve with general moduli are determined. As consequences a lower bound for the Tjurina number and many continuous analytic invariants of the curve are found.

Spin polarized liquid 3He

open access: yes, 2008
We have employed the constrained variational method to study the influence of spin polarization on the ground state properties of liquid $^3{\rm He}$. The spin polarized phase, we have found, has stronger correlation with respect to the unpolarized phase.

Planar Solid‐State Nanopores Toward Scalable Nanofluidic Integration Based on CMOS Technology

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
We present a scalable silicon‐based fabrication strategy for planar solid‐state nanopores to enable their integration with complex nanofluidic systems. Prototype devices demonstrate normal voltage‐current characteristics, good noise performance, and appreciable streaming currents. Our CMOS‐compatible fabrication process offers precise geometric control

Polarization Evolution of Gamma-Ray Burst Prompt Emission with Bulk Acceleration

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
During the prompt phase, Poynting-flux-dominated jets undergo acceleration accompanied by magnetic dissipation. By using an outward-propagating thin-shell model, where bulk Lorentz factors Γ increase with radius and the magnetic field strength decay is ...

Electrochemical Evaluation of Compressed Selective Laser Melted AlSi7Mg and AlSi10Mg Alloys in Chloride Environment

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The corrosion performance of AlSi7Mg and AlSi10Mg alloys produced through selective laser melting (SLM) was examined under compressive stress in a chloride environment. Electrochemical analyses, including open‐circuit potential (OCP), potentiodynamic polarization (CPP), and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), were complemented by scanning ...

A Compact Spin‐Coated Graphene UWB Antenna for Breast Tumor Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A compact, spin‐coated graphene ultra‐wideband patch antenna designed for breast tumor detection, capable of distinguishing between malignant and benign tumors. This innovative antenna can serve as an effective initial screening tool, particularly in resource‐limited settings such as rural areas, where access to advanced medical equipment like MRI and ...
