Polarization Diversity System for Mobile Radio

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1972
Conventional space diversity reception at typical elevated base locations requites separation of 30λ for broadside incidence and even more for in-line incidence and is therefore difficult to implement. A polarization diversity system for mobile radio is proposed.

Polarization diversity lens

Proceedings of IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium and URSI National Radio Science Meeting, 2002
Many airborne radar systems cannot take advantage of the target signature enhancements that can be achieved by receiving two orthogonal senses of polarization from the target on a pulse to pulse basis. Planar array polarization diversity can be achieved either mechanically or electrically.

Pattern Diversity and Polarization Diversity Wide Band Circularly Polarized MIMO Antenna

2019 URSI Asia-Pacific Radio Science Conference (AP-RASC), 2019
This paper presents pattern and polarization diversity, planar wideband circularly polarized (CP) Multiple-Input and Multiple-Output (MIMO) antenna. 3dB axial ratio bandwidth (ARBW) is 2.45 GHz (8.11–10.56) while its impedance matching bandwidth (IMBW) is 3.52 GHz(8.07–11.59).

Coherent detection of backscattered polarized laser with polarization diversity reception

2016 Fourth International Conference on Ubiquitous Positioning, Indoor Navigation and Location Based Services (UPINLBS), 2016
Polarization information is widely used in laser communication as well as the detection of aerosol and clouds, etc. But the variation and degradation of the laser polarization state will seriously reduce the coherent efficiency, which will degrade the performance of coherent lidar.

Diverse macrophages polarization in tumor microenvironment

Archives of Pharmacal Research, 2016
Macrophages are traditional innate immune cells that play critical roles in the clearance of pathogens and the maintenance of tissue homeostasis. Accumulating evidence proves that macrophages affect cancer initiation and malignancy. Macrophages can be categorized into two extreme subsets, classically activated (M1) and alternatively activated (M2 ...

Polarization-Diverse Holographic Metasurfaces

IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters, 2019
This letter presents the design and fabrication of polarization-diverse metasurface leaky-wave antennas that are composed of simple isotropic square patches. Multiple vertical monopoles are employed to excite the metasurface. Each source, or a combination of sources, is designed to enable the metasurface to form a pencil beam with the desired ...

UWB polarization diversity

2006
Ultrawideband (UWB) communication systems offer an unprecedented opportunity to impact the future communication world. The enormous available bandwidth, the wide scope of the data rate / range trade-off, as well as the potential for very low-cost operation leading to pervasive usage, all present a unique opportunity for UWB systems to impact the way ...

Diversity, Polarization, and Recruiting

In this dissertation, I elucidate (1) tension associated with employers’ efforts to diversify applicant pools and (2) strategies whereby firms navigate this tension. In the first chapter, I present a novel theory as to why firms position on divisive, diversity-related social issues.

Diversely polarized antenna array systems

2009
An extensible application is one which allows functionality to be added, replaced or removed without requiring the source code of the application to be revealed or modified. The aim is to enable developers to add features and customise a substantial base application for new requirements, without the direct involvement of the application creators.

Bacterial Diversity in Polar Habitats

2014
This chapter talks about the development of culture-independent, molecular methods that have revolutionized the field and the understanding of molecular ecology. Through the use of these techniques, it is now apparent that the earlier culture-based studies were not a representative reflection of the dominant microorganisms in many psychrophilic ...
