Polarization division multiplexed optical eigenvalue modulation

All-fiber polarization-division multiplexing to mode-division multiplexing conversion for hybrid optical networks

This paper proposes and experimentally demonstrates an all-fiber conversion method that transfers the polarization-division multiplexing (PDM) signals to the mode-division multiplexing (MDM) signals. The conversion scheme is based on a mode converter and a polarization-mode controller.

Gigabit polarization division multiplexing in visible light communication

Underwater Optical Communication Link Using Wavelength Division Multiplexing, Polarization Division Multiplexing and Orbital Angular Momentum Multiplexing

We report on the direct modulation of blue laser diodes for underwater optical communication utilizing wavelength, polarization and space division multiplexing. Using this scalable architecture, we demonstrate an effective data rate of 10 Gbit/s.

Endless Polarization Stabilizer for High Bit-rate Polarization-Division Multiplexed Optical Systems

An endless polarization stabilization method is applied to a 40-Gbit/s RZ-DQPSK polarization-division multiplexed optical system. The effectivness of the polarization stabilizer in allowing the polarization demultiplexing of the two orthogonally polarized channels is experimentally verified.
