Micro absolute distance measurement (MADM) is widely used in industrial and military fields. To achieve high accuracy and frequency response, a polarized low-coherence interferometry (PLCI)-based method for MADM is proposed.

We introduce a new class of polynomials $\{P_{n}\}$, that we call polar Legendre polynomials, they appear as solutions of an inverse Gauss problem of equilibrium position of a field of forces with $n+1$ unit masses. We study algebraic, differential and asymptotic properties of this class of polynomials, that are simultaneously orthogonal with respect ...

Lower Bound of the Complexity of Seven-Valued Functions in the Class of Polarized Polynomials
One of the directions of the investigation of functions over finite fields is the study of their representations, including polynomial ones. In the area of polynomial representations of functions the problem of estimating the complexity of such ...

On the irrationality of moduli spaces of projective hyperk\"ahler manifolds [PDF]
The aim of this paper is to estimate the irrationality of moduli spaces of hyperk\"ahler manifolds of types K3$^{[n]}$, Kum$_{n}$, OG6, and OG10. We prove that the degrees of irrationality of these moduli spaces are bounded from above by a universal

Effect of Structural Uncertainty in Passive Microwave Soil Moisture Retrieval Algorithm
Passive microwave sensors use a radiative transfer model (RTM) to retrieve soil moisture (SM) using brightness temperatures (TB) at low microwave frequencies. Vegetation optical depth (VOD) is a key input to the RTM. Retrieval algorithms can analytically

L^p inequalities for polar derivatives of polynomials [PDF]
Let \(p(z)=a_0+a_1z+ \cdots+ a_nz^n\) be a polynomial of degree \(n\) and let for fixed \(\alpha\in\mathbb{C}\) \[ D_\alpha p(z):= np(z)+(\alpha-z)p'(z) \] denote the polar derivative of \(p(z)\) with respect to \(\alpha\). In this paper some inequalities for such polar derivatives are presented. In particular it is proved: Theorem.

Isomorphism of Compactifications of Vector Bundles Moduli: Nonreduced Moduli
We continue the study of the compactification of the moduli scheme for Gieseker-semistable vector bundles on a nonsingular irreducible projective algebraic surface S with polarization L, by locally free sheaves.

On polar relations of abstract homogeneous polynomials [PDF]
In this paper we generalize, to vector spaces over algebraically closed fields of characteristic zero, two well-known classical results due to Laguerre and Grace, concerning, respectively, the relative location of the zeros of a complex-valued polynomial and its polar-derivative and the relative location of the zeros of two apolar polynomials.
