Determination of the Crystal Alignment of Pr-Fe-B Magnets Using the (105) X-Ray Pole Figure

open access: yes, 2010
The crystallographic alignment of various permanent magnets has been investigated by X-ray pole figure analysis. Attempts have been made to measure the degree of alignment of these sintered magnets using the (105) reflection.

Evolutionarily divergent DUF4465 domains have a common vitamin B12‐binding function

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We show that DUF4465 family proteins, widespread across bacteria from gut microbiomes, hydrothermal vents, and soil, share a common vitamin B12‐binding function. These augmented β‐jellyroll proteins bind vitamin B12 via extended loops. Our findings establish sequence‐diverse DUF4465 proteins as a widespread class of B12‐binding proteins, highlighting ...

Microstructure and texture evolution in LZ91 magnesium alloy during cold rolling

open access: yesJournal of Magnesium and Alloys, 2018
LZ91 magnesium alloy extruded sheets were subjected to cold rolling. The microstructure and texture evolution were tracked using optical microscopy (OM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD).

Classifying pole-skipping points

open access: yes, 2020
We clarify general mathematical and physical properties of pole-skipping points. For this purpose, we analyse scalar and vector fields in hyperbolic space.

Systemic dysregulation of apolipoproteins in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis serum

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal disease that damages motor neurons. This study found that people with ALS show significant changes in blood fats and the proteins that carry them. Several apolipoproteins were higher, lipid balances were altered, and normal protein–lipid relationships were disrupted.

Polarity dependence of hexagonal inclusions and cubic twins in GaN/GaAs(001) epilayers measured by conventional X-ray pole figure and grazing incident diffraction pole figure

open access: yes, 2001
The distribution of mixed phases and its dependence on the polarity of cubic GaN epilayers are investigated by conventional X-ray pole figure and grazing incident diffraction (GID) pole figure.
