Pathogenic Neurofibromatosis type 1 gene variants in tumors of non‐NF1 patients and role of R1276

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Somatic variants of the neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) gene occur across neoplasms without clinical manifestation of the disease NF1. We identified emerging somatic pathogenic NF1 variants and hotspots, for example, at the arginine finger 1276. Those missense variants provide fundamental information about neurofibromin's role in cancer.

C2α‐carbanion‐protonating glutamate discloses tradeoffs between substrate accommodation and reaction rate in actinobacterial 2‐hydroxyacyl‐CoA lyase

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Enzymes of the 2‐hydroxyacyl‐CoA lyase group catalyze the condensation of formyl‐CoA with aldehydes or ketones. Thus, by structural adaptation of active sites, practically any pharmaceutically and industrially important 2‐hydroxyacid could be biotechnologically synthesized. Combining crystal structure analysis, active site mutations and kinetic assays,

Texture Evolution and Anisotropy of Plastic Flow in Hot Compression of Extruded ZK60-T5 Magnesium Alloy Plate

open access: yesMetals, 2019
The texture evolution during hot compression of extruded ZK60A-T5 magnesium alloy plate loaded along the extrusion direction (ED) and the normal direction (ND) has been examined with the help of pole figures obtained on specimens deformed in the ranges ...

X-ray pole figure analysis. Final report [PDF]

open access: yes, 1978
Crystal orientation in a polycrystalline material determines the characteristics of the material. When a material is deformed, a specific crystallographic orientation of the grains with respect to the deformation direction becomes predominant. A technique used to determine crystal orientation or texture is the construction of a pole figure.

Network Localization of Fatigue in Multiple Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Fatigue is among the most common symptoms and one of the main factors determining the quality of life in multiple sclerosis (MS). However, the neurobiological mechanisms underlying fatigue are not fully understood. Here we studied lesion locations and their connections in individuals with MS, aiming to identify brain networks ...

Pion-proton scattering and isospin breaking in the $\Delta^0-\Delta^{++}$ system

open access: yes, 1995
We determine the mass and width of the $\Delta^{++}\ (\Delta^0)$ resonance from data on $\pi^+ p\ (\pi^- p)$ scattering both, in the pole of the $S$-matrix and conventional Breit-Wigner approaches to the scattering amplitude.

Post‐COVID Fatigue Is Associated With Reduced Cortical Thickness After Hospitalization

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Neuropsychiatric symptoms are among the most prevalent sequelae of COVID‐19, particularly among hospitalized patients. Recent research has identified volumetric brain changes associated with COVID‐19. However, it currently remains poorly understood how brain changes relate to post‐COVID fatigue and cognitive deficits.

Predicting Epileptogenic Tubers in Patients With Tuberous Sclerosis Complex Using a Fusion Model Integrating Lesion Network Mapping and Machine Learning

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Accurate localization of epileptogenic tubers (ETs) in patients with tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) is essential but challenging, as these tubers lack distinct pathological or genetic markers to differentiate them from other cortical tubers.

Gluonic Pole Matrix Elements and Universality

open access: yes, 2008
We investigate the spectral properties of quark-quark-gluon correlators and use this to study gluonic pole matrix elements. Such matrix elements appear in principle both for distribution functions such as the Sivers function and fragmentation functions ...
