The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Lattice Strain Pole Figures Analysis in Titanium during Uniaxial Deformation
A theoretical and experimental study was carry out to investigate deformation mechanisms in a textured titanium alloy. In situ neutron diffraction measurements were performed to analyze different {hk.l} family planes ({10.0}, {10.1}, {11.0} and {00.2 ...

A review of microstructure and texture evolution with nanoscale precipitates for copper alloys
Copper alloys are widely used in the lead frame, high-speed railway and other applications due to their high electrical conductivity and adequate mechanical properties. In this work, the texture and microstructure evolution under hot deformation of Cu-Ni-

On the Relative Motion of the Earth's Axis of Figure and the Pole of Rotation [PDF]
The motion of the Earth's axis of inertia has been derived, taking elastic deformation into account, from the polar coordinates determined by the BIH for the period from 1962.0 to 1975.0. Characteristics of the motion of both the pole of inertia and the pole of rotation have been examined.

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...

Effect of Crystallographic Texture on Hydride Orientation in Zr-(1%)Nb Fuel Clad [PDF]
In this paper, the effect of crystallographic texture on hydride orientation in the inner and outer layers of Zr-(1%)Nb clad was investigated. (0002) pole figures were measured by transmission and reflection X-ray diffraction method.
