Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

A X-ray study of β-phase and molecular orientation in nucleated and non-nucleated injection molded polypropylene resins

open access: yesMaterials Research, 2009
The development of α and β-phases and the molecular orientation of injection molded disks of two isotactic polypropylene (i-PP) resins were studied by wide angle X-ray diffraction (WAXD) and pole figures.

Spectral analysis of gluonic pole matrix elements for fragmentation

open access: yes, 2008
The non-vanishing of gluonic pole matrix elements can explain the appearance of single spin asymmetries in high-energy scattering processes. We use a spectator framework approach to investigate the spectral properties of quark-quark-gluon correlators and

Bayesian Analysis of Many-Pole Fits of Hadron Propagators in Lattice QCD [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
We use Bayes' probability theorem to analyze many-pole fits of hadron propagators. An alternative method of estimating values and uncertainties of the fit parameters is offered, which has certain advantages over the conventional methods.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

D=11 SUGRA as the Low Energy Effective Action of Matrix Theory: Three Form Scattering [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
We employ the LSZ reduction formula for Matrix Theory introduced in our earlier work to compute the t-pole S-matrix for three form-three form scattering. The result agrees completely with tree level D=11 SUGRA.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Single Spin Asymmetry in Forward $pA$ Collisions

open access: yes, 2016
We compute the transverse single spin asymmetry in light hadron production $p^\uparrow p\to hX$ and $p^\uparrow A\to hX$ including the gluon saturation effect in the unpolarized nucleon/nucleus.

S-wave $\pi^0$ Production in pp Collision in a Covariant OBE Model [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
The total cross section for the pp -> pp pi^0 reaction at energies close to threshold is calculated using a covariant one-boson-exchange model, where a boson B created on one of the incoming protons is converted into a neutral pion on the second.
