The Diffusion of Labour Standards: The Case of the US and Guatemala

open access: yesPolitics and Governance, 2015
The number of free trade agreements (FTAs) concluded by the United States of America (US) has grown vastly over the past two decades. While FTAs contribute to increased global competition and as such may also contribute to socially-undesirable practices ...

Generative Models for Crystalline Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Generative machine learning models are increasingly used in crystalline materials design. This review outlines major generative approaches and assesses their strengths and limitations. It also examines how generative models can be adapted to practical applications, discusses key experimental considerations for evaluating generated structures, and ...

Diffusion Policy Policy Optimization

open access: yes
We introduce Diffusion Policy Policy Optimization, DPPO, an algorithmic framework including best practices for fine-tuning diffusion-based policies (e.g. Diffusion Policy) in continuous control and robot learning tasks using the policy gradient (PG) method from reinforcement learning (RL).

Suppressing Metal–Molecule Charge Transfer With a Phosphorus Interlayer

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Phosphorus forms stable reconstructions with remarkable properties on various metal substrates. Here, using a spectroscopic approach, its role as an effective buffer layer on Cu(110) is demonstrated, preventing charge transfer to adsorbed Zn‐tetraphenylporphyrins (ZnTPP).

Policy Diffusion: The Issue‐Definition Stage

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Political Science, 2020
AbstractWe put forward a new approach to studying issue definition within the context of policy diffusion. Most studies of policy diffusion—which is the process by which policymaking in one government affects policymaking in other governments—have focused on policy adoptions.

The governance of innovation diffusion – a socio-technical analysis of energy policy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
This paper describes a dynamic price mechanism to coordinate electric power generation from micro Combined Heat and Power (micro-CHP) systems in a network of households. It is assumed that the households are prosumers, i.e.
