The Wicked Problem of Diffuse Nutrient Pollution from Agriculture

, 2020
Diffuse nutrient pollution from agriculture has been the concern of policymakers for several decades, and yet it remains a persistent environmental issue.

Diffusion of Pollution Prevention Policy

The ANNALS of the American Academy of Political and Social Science, 1999
Prevention is growing in importance as a method of reducing industrial pollution, though it is by no means easy to do. Diffusion of the prevention approach may be enhanced by increasing the risks associated with doing nothing or sticking to control technologies, while providing settings where trust can grow.

Evaluating the effect of air pollution on global and diffuse solar radiation prediction using support vector machine modeling based on sunshine duration and air temperature

Renewable & Sustainable Energy Reviews, 2018
Increasing air pollutants attenuate surface solar radiation, and thus can be influential variables for solar radiation prediction. In this study, six air pollutants of PM2.5, PM10, SO2, NO2, CO and O3 as well as air quality index (AQI) were chosen for ...

Decision support for diffuse pollution management

Environmental Modelling & Software, 2012
The effort to manage diffuse pollution at the catchment scale is an ongoing challenge that needs to take into account trade-offs between environmental and economic objectives. Best Management Practices (BMPs) are gaining ground as a means to address the problem, but their application (and impact) is highly dependant on the characteristics of the crops ...

Watershed diffuse pollution dynamics and response to land development assessment with riverine sediments.

Science of the Total Environment, 2019
Sediment cores can reflect diffuse pollution history due to the accumulation of pollutants over time, therefore, the quantitative relationship between the sedimentation flux of pollutants and diffuse loads can identify the historical change.

Pollution diffuse par l'agriculture

1994

Diffusion of Pollutants from Automobile Exhaust

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1977
Abstract The concentration levels of pollutants arising from automobile exhaust were investigated on roads with different building geometry. The experimental fields were (1) an area around a crossing, surrounded by low buildings, (2) a deep “street canyon” and (3) an intermediate case between (1) and (2).

Pollution of groundwater through nonlinear diffusion

Journal of Hydrology, 1978
Abstract An analytical solution for the prediction of the spread of contaminant caused by nonlinear diffusion in an aquifer adjoining a polluted source is presented. The solution is based on the assumption of the existence of a sharp diffusion front and is similar to the solution of a two-dimensional unsaturated flow problem.

Diffuse pollution monitoring and modelling of small urban watershed in Brazil Cerrado.

Water Science and Technology, 2019
The stormwater runoff carries different pollutants that can reduce the quality of receiving waters due to diffuse pollutant loads. This research was aimed at evaluating the concentration of pollutants in stormwater and the application of SWMM (Storm ...
