Abstract An analytical solution for the prediction of the spread of contaminant caused by nonlinear diffusion in an aquifer adjoining a polluted source is presented. The solution is based on the assumption of the existence of a sharp diffusion front and is similar to the solution of a two-dimensional unsaturated flow problem.
