Poly(N-isopropylacrylamide)/Poly(dopamine) Capsules

Langmuir, 2014
Polymer capsules are an interesting concept considered in nanobiotechnology. Approaches that facilitate their assembly remain sought after. Poly(dopamine) (PDA) has been considered and successfully applied in this context. We recently demonstrated that PDA could be copolymerized with different types of poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (pNiPAAm) to assemble ...

Structures for the polynucleotide complexes poly(dA) · poly(dT) and poly(dT) · poly(dA) · poly(dT)

Journal of Molecular Biology, 1974
X-ray diffraction analyses of fibers of polydeoxyadenylic acid · polydeoxythymidylic acid show that this molecule exists as a 10-fold double-helix with axial rise per nucleotide h = 3.24 to 3.29 A. The structure is very similar to B-DNA (h = 3.37 A) in having C3-exo furanose rings and base-pairs positioned centrally on the helix axis, but distinctive ...

Pulsed Electric Linear Dichroism of Poly(dA)·Poly(dT)·Poly(dT) and Poly(rA)·Poly(rU)·Poly(rU) in Solutions

Bulletin of the Chemical Society of Japan, 1997
Abstract The dependence of reduced dichroism (Δε/ε) of sonicated rodlike title triplexes with the counterion Mg2+, (dA)n·(dT)n·(dT′)n and (rA)n·(rU)n·(rU′)n, on the wavelength (190—300 nm) and on the applied-field strength (3.8—23.1 kV cm−1) was studied in aqueous ionic solutions at 7 °C.

Raman studies of nucleic acids. VII. Poly A · poly U and poly G · Poly C

Biopolymers, 1972
AbstractLaser‐excited Raman spectra of the double‐helical complexes poly A·poly U and poly G·poly C are reported for 2H2O and H2O solutions. The spectra are discussed in relation to their use as quantitative reference spectra for determining the dependence of the Raman scattering of RNA on secondary structure.

Electrochemical preparation of conducting polymer composites: Poly(vinylchloride)/poly(dithienopyrrole) and poly(vinylchloride)/ poly(dithienothiophene)

Synthetic Metals, 1993
Abstract With the aim of improving the processability of some electrochromic polymers, dithienopyrrole and dithienthiophene were polymerized by a potentiodynamic technique on platinum electrode coated by poly(vinylchloride). A composite was obtained in both cases, characterized by a good processability, typical for poly(vinylchloride), and by ...

Poly(organosilanes), Poly(carbosilanes), Poly(organosilazanes)

1996
Attempts to completely replace the carbon in n-alkanes by the next element of group IV, silicon has been of special interest to practical as well as theoretical chemists ever since the work of Kipping [1]. Interest in the group of compounds, known as poly(organosilanes) 2b has not diminished to the present day, especially since it is a well known fact ...

Poly-Friendships

Journal of Lesbian Studies, 1999
SUMMARY In contrast to the monogamous model for sexual relationships (including those of lesbians) in western society, friendships are permitted to be polyamorous. However, friendships do not receive the level of salience and priority that sexual relationships do. This article focuses on three issues that keep lesbians from prioritizing friendships: (1)
