Methylene blue intercalates with triplex poly(dT)*poly(dA)·poly(dT) but not duplex poly(dA)·poly(dT)
J. Chem. Soc., Chem. Commun., 1995Methylene blue intercalates with triplex poly(dT*dA·dT) even though it binds to the precursor duplex poly(dA·dT) in the major groove; the switch may be related to conformational modifications of the polynucleotide structure upon binding of the third strand.

High frequency vibrational modes of poly(dA) · poly(dT) and poly(dAT) · poly(dAT)
Journal of Raman Spectroscopy, 1979AbstractThe Raman and infrared spectra of poly(dA) · poly(dT) and poly(dAT) · poly(dAT) have been recorded. Normal coordinate analyses have been performed for these two polymers to obtain the fundamental modes. We use a valence force field deduced from literature values and from a refinement of a diethyl phosphate potential. Non‐bonded interactions are

Poly(chloroaldehydes). III. Poly(dichloroacetaldehyde)
Journal of Polymer Science Part A: General Papers, 1965AbstractAlthough dichloroacetaldehyde has only one chlorine less than chloral, the polymerization and polymer characteristics are quite different. Dichloroacetaldehyde is readily polymerized by Lewis acid catalysts to polymer with terminal hydroxyl groups.

Hole polarons in poly(G)-poly(C) and poly(A)-poly(T) DNA molecules
Science in China Series B: Chemistry, 2008The polaron might play an important role in the process of charge migration through duplex DNA stack. In the present work, we investigate properties of hole polarons in DNA molecules containing identical base pairs, such as poly(G)-poly(C) and poly(A)-poly(T), An extended tight-binding model (extended Su-Schrieffer-Heeger model), which involves the ...

High pressure fourier transform infrared spectroscopy of poly(dA)poly(dT), poly(dA) and poly(dT)
Biophysical Chemistry, 1999The effect of hydrostatic pressure upon the DNA duplex, poly(dA)poly(dT), and its component single strands, poly(dA) and poly(dT) has been studied by fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). The spectral data indicate that at 28 degrees C and pressures up to 12 kbar (1200 MPa) all three polymers retain the B conformation.

Abstract This chapter considers what was going on in ancient Greece three hundred years before there was any democracy. It shows that just as you could succeed without monarchy, so you could get on without groups of basileia congregating at out-of-the-way cult places.

Proton exchange and base-pair kinetics of poly(rA) · poly(rU) and poly(rI) · poly(rC)
Journal of Molecular Biology, 1985Proton exchange of poly(rA).poly(rU) and poly(rI).poly(rC) has been studied by nuclear magnetic resonance line broadening and saturation transfer from H2O. Five exchangeable peaks are observed. They are assigned to the imino, amino and 2'-OH ribose protons. The aromatic spectrum is also assigned.

The helix–coil transitions of poly (dA). Poly (dT) and poly (dA‐dT). Poly (dA‐dT)
Biopolymers, 1972AbstractHelix–coil transition curves are calculated for poly (dA) poly(dT) and poly (dA‐dT) poly (dA‐dT) using the integral equation approach of Goel and Montroll.5 The transitions are described by the loop entropy model with the exponent of the loop entropy factor, k, remaining an arbitrary constant.
