Hole polarons in poly(G)-poly(C) and poly(A)-poly(T) DNA molecules [PDF]
The polaron might play an important role in the process of charge migration through duplex DNA stack. In the present work, we investigate properties of hole polarons in DNA molecules containing identical base pairs, such as poly(G)-poly(C) and poly(A)-poly(T), An extended tight-binding model (extended Su-Schrieffer-Heeger model), which involves the ...

Structure of Poly (I)•Poly (A)•Poly (I)
Journal of Biomolecular Structure and Dynamics, 2000The molecular structure of poly (I).poly (A).poly (I) has been determined and refined using the continuous intensity data on layer lines in the x-ray diffraction pattern obtained from an oriented fiber of this polymorphic RNA complex. The polymer forms a 12-fold right-handed triple-helix of pitch 39.7A and each base-triplet is stabilized by quasi Crick-

Structure of Poly (U)•Poly (A)•Poly (U)
Journal of Biomolecular Structure and Dynamics, 2000The molecular structure of poly (U).poly (A).poly (U) has been determined and refined using the continuous x-ray intensity data on layer lines in the diffraction pattern obtained from an oriented fiber of the RNA. The final R-value for the preferred structure is 0.24, far lower than that for the plausible alternatives.

Structure of Poly (dT)·Poly (dA)·Poly (dT)
Journal of Biomolecular Structure and Dynamics, 2000The molecular structure of poly (dT).poly (dA).poly (dT) has been determined and refined using the continuous x-ray intensity data on layer lines in the diffraction pattern obtained from an oriented fiber of the DNA. The final R-value for the preferred structure is 0.29 significantly lower than that for plausible alternatives.

Structures for the polynucleotide complexes poly(dA) · poly(dT) and poly(dT) · poly(dA) · poly(dT)
Journal of Molecular Biology, 1974X-ray diffraction analyses of fibers of polydeoxyadenylic acid · polydeoxythymidylic acid show that this molecule exists as a 10-fold double-helix with axial rise per nucleotide h = 3.24 to 3.29 A. The structure is very similar to B-DNA (h = 3.37 A) in having C3-exo furanose rings and base-pairs positioned centrally on the helix axis, but distinctive ...

Current amplification-based microRNA (miRNA) detection approaches are limited by the small sizes of miRNAs as well as amplification bias/artifacts. Herein, we report on an amplification-free miRNA assay based on elevated affinity interaction between ...
