Poly(bisphenol A carbonate)–poly(dimethylsiloxane) multiblock copolymers

Polymer, 2001
A versatile technique for the synthesis of multiblock copolymers of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) and poly(bisphenol A carbonate) (PC) is described. Specific reaction of the phenol end groups of α,ω-bis(bisphenol A)-terminated PDMS with the activated end groups of α,ω-bis(ortho-nitrophenylcarbonate)-endcapped PC yields PC–PDMS multiblock copolymers and ...

Synthesis and coding properties of poly(c1A), poly(c3A), poly(c7A) and poly(h6A)

Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1973
Abstract The homopolynucleotides poly(c1A), poly(c3A), poly(c7A) and poly(h6A) ++ were synthesized from their corresponding nucleoside diphosphates using polynucleotide phosphorylase. With the exception of poly(h6A), which displayed no hypochromicity, the homopolynucleotides showed melting profiles similar to poly(A). All these polynucleotides, poly(

Poly(A):Poly(U); Poly(O8A):Poly(U); Poly(A):Poly(MeNH5U) and poly(O8A):Poly(MeNH5U) versus bida semliki forest virus in chick embryos

Toxicology Letters, 1982
Poly(A):poly(U) (polyadenylic acid:polyuridylic acid hybrid); poly(O8A):poly(U) (poly-8-oxy-adenylic acid:polyuridylic acid hybrid); poly(A):poly(MeNH5U) (polyadenylic acid-5-methylamino uridylic acid hybrid) and poly(O8A):poly(MeNH5U) (poly-8-oxyadenylic acid:poly-5-methylamino uridylic acid hybrid) were studied in chick embryos to compare the ...

A circular dichroism study of poly dG, poly dC, and poly dG:dC

Biopolymers, 1974
AbstractWe have measured the ultraviolet circular dichroism spectra of oligo d(pG)5, poly dN AcG, poly dI, poly dC, two samples of poly dG, and four samples containing double‐stranded poly dG:dC. We find that oligo d(pG)5 and poly dG exist in self‐complexed forms as well as in single‐stranded forms. Unlike the self‐complexed form of poly dG, the single‐

Conformations of poly[d(A-T-T)]·poly[d(A-A-T)]

Journal of Molecular Biology, 1975
The sodium salt of poly[d(A-T-T)]·poly[d(A-A-T)] is observed in oriented and partially crystalline fibers to have the classical B -DNA molecular conformation at relative humidities >85% and the B -type D -form hitherto observed only for poly[d(Pur-Pyr)]·poly[d(Pyr-Pur)] DNAs, at relative humidities of zero to 85%.

Poly Wants a Lover

Journal of Lesbian Studies, 1999
SUMMARY Taking a humorous approach to the question of polyamo-ry, this article recalls the author's first and only brush with the concept. After exploring several real-life complications that might arise when polyamory is put into practice, the essay then acknowledges some practical benefits of the multi-partnered lifestyle.

Hole polarons in poly(G)-poly(C) and poly(A)-poly(T) DNA molecules

Science in China Series B: Chemistry, 2008
The polaron might play an important role in the process of charge migration through duplex DNA stack. In the present work, we investigate properties of hole polarons in DNA molecules containing identical base pairs, such as poly(G)-poly(C) and poly(A)-poly(T), An extended tight-binding model (extended Su-Schrieffer-Heeger model), which involves the ...

Mg2+ ion effect on conformational equilibrium of poly A · 2 poly U and poly A poly U in aqueous solutions

International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, 2003
Differential UV spectroscopy and thermal denaturation were used to study the Mg(2+) ion effect on the conformational equilibrium in poly A.2 poly U (A2U) and poly A . poly U (AU) solutions at low (0.01 M Na(+)) and high (0.1 M Na(+)) ionic strengths.

Poly(A) polymerase-based poly(A) length assay.

Methods in molecular biology (Clifton, N.J.), 2014
mRNA polyadenylation functions in nuclear export, translation, and stability. We describe an efficient protocol designed to assess poly(A) tail length that is based on 3' tailing by yeast poly(A) polymerase and product analysis to single-nucleotide resolution by capillary electrophoresis.
