Micellization Behavior of Poly(n-butyl methacrylate)-block-poly(2-(acetoacetoxy)ethyl methacrylate)

Macromolecules, 2009
A series of poly(n-butyl methacrylate)-block-poly(2-(acetoacetoxy)ethyl methacrylate)s (PBMA-b-PAEMA) were studied according to the formation of core−shell micelles in dilute cyclohexane solution (PBMA → shell, PAEMA → core). Although being a strongly segregating system, the appearance of different shapes of micelles could not appropriately be ...

Morphology of Poly(2-ethylhexyl methacrylate):Poly(butyl methacrylate) Latex Blend Films

Macromolecules, 2001
This paper describes the morphology of the latex films formed from a mixture of two different latex particles:  poly(butyl methacrylate) (PBMA, 120 nm) and poly(2-ethylhexyl methacrylate) (PEHMA, 100 nm). Twenty percent of the PBMA phase is labeled with 1 mol % anthracene.

Facile Photoresponsive Actuators Based on Ferrocene-Doped Poly(butyl methacrylate)

ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, 2023
This paper presents facile photoresponsive actuators comprising ferrocene as a guest chromophore and poly(butyl methacrylate) (PBMA) as a host matrix. The ferrocene-doped PBMA film exhibits mechanical expansion and contraction when a 445 nm laser is turned on and off, respectively.

Monolithic poly(butyl methacrylate–ethylene dimethacrylate–methacrylic acid) column for capillary electrochromatography

Journal of Separation Science, 2011
AbstractA butyl methacrylate–ethylene dimethacrylate–methacrylic acid (MAA) monolithic column was prepared for capillary electrochromatography. The effect of MAA weight percentage on the EOF mobility and column efficiency was studied. BMA–EDMA–MAA monolith with higher content of MAA provided higher EOF mobility as well as higher efficiency.

Thermal and Photocatalytic Degradation of Poly(methyl methacrylate), Poly(butyl methacrylate), and Their Copolymers

Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research, 2008
The photocatalytic degradation of the homopolymers, poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA), poly(butyl methacrylate (PBMA), and their copolymers (PMMABMA) was studied in o-dichlorobenzene in the presence of commercial $TiO_2$ (Degussa P-25) and $TiO_2$ synthesized by combustion synthesis $(CSN-TiO_2)$.

Morphology of crosslinked poly(butyl methacrylate-co-methyl methacrylate) porous membranes

Journal of Membrane Science, 2002
Abstract For the separation of liquid mixtures, IPN structure could be used to enhance the mechanical strength and the selectivity of membrane by restricting the swelling of the transporting polymer component networks. In this study, for the separation of water–ethanol mixture, composite membranes having polyacrylic acid–poly(butyl methacrylate-co ...

Radiolysis of the isomeric poly(butyl methacrylates)

Journal of Polymer Science Part A: General Papers, 1963
AbstractA study has been made of the effect of gamma irradiation on the production of free radicals in poly(butyl methacrylates). A mechanism of radiation attack on the polymers is proposed. Free‐radical measurements and the determination of the products of irradiation have been used in establishing this mechanism.

Synthesis of Casein-g-Poly(n-butyl Methacrylate)

Journal of Macromolecular Science: Part A - Chemistry, 1985
Abstract The graft copolymerization of n-butyl methacrylate onto casein initiated by peroxydisulfate in aqueous medium has been investigated and the results are discussed in the light of percent grafting, grafting efficiency, rates of conversion of monomer, and graft copolymerization.
