Solvent diffusion in poly(ether ether ketone)/poly(ether imide) blends

Polymer, 1995
Solvent uptake in thin, amorphous samples of poly(ether ether ketone), poly(ether imide) and a 50/50 blend has been measured as a function of temperature. Diffusion coefficients, percentage weight increase and apparent activation energies have been calculated.

Water sorption kinetics in poly(aryl ether ether ketone)

Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 1989
AbstractThe kinetics of diffusion of water from different activity vapors and liquid phase have been investigated in glassy amorphous poly(aryl ether ether ketcne) (PEEK) films at the temperature of 60°C and in glassy semicrystalline PEEK sheets at different temperatures, respectively.

Synthesis and properties of novel copolymers of poly(ether ketone ether ketone ketone) and poly(ether ketone ketone ether ketone ketone) containing 1,4‐naphthylene moieties

Polymer Engineering & Science, 2016
A new monomer, 1,4‐bis(4‐phenoxybenzoyl)naphthalene (BPOBN), was conveniently synthesized via a simple synthetic procedure from readily available materials. A series of novel copolymers of poly(ether ketone ether ketone ketone) and poly(ether ketone ketone ether ketone ketone) containing 1,4‐naphthylene moieties were prepared by the Friedel‐Crafts ...

Synthesis and properties of novel random copolymers of poly(ether ketone ether ketone ketone)–poly(ether ketone imide)

Journal of Polymer Research, 2013
Bis[4-(p-phenoxybenzoyl)-1,2-benzenedioyl]-N,N,N',N'-4,4'-diaminodiphenyl ether (BPBDADPE) was prepared by the Friedel-Crafts acylation reaction of diphenyl ether (DPE) with bis(4-chloroformyl-1,2-benzenedioyl)-N,N,N',N'-4,4'-diaminodiphenyl ether (BCBDADPE).

Compatibility in immiscible poly(ether ether ketone)/poly(ether sulfone) blends

Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 1995
AbstractBoth as‐molded and annealed poly(ether ether ketone) (PEEK)/poly(ether sulfone) (PES) blends have been prepared by direct injection molding. The system has been found to be immiscible at all compositions; however, as a result mainly of the produced morphology, it surprisingly maintains to a very great extent the excellent mechanical performance

Effect of dihydroxydiphenyl ether on poly(ether ether ketone)

Journal of Polymer Research, 1996
A series of modified poly(ether ether ketone) (PEEK) polymers were synthesized by introduction of addition ether groups from dihydroxydiphenyl ether (DHDE) into the PEEK structure. The inherent viscosity of the DHDE-modified PEEK increased with reaction time at 320 °C.

Crystallization behaviour of poly(ether-ether-ketone)

Polymer, 1986
Abstract A study has been made of the crystallization behaviour of poly(ether-ether-ketone), PEEK, under isothermal and non-isothermal conditions. A differential scanning calorimeter was used to monitor the energetics of the crystallization process from the melt and from the rubbery amorphous state.

Thermal stability of a novel poly(ether ether Ketone Ketone) (PK99)

Polymer Engineering & Science, 1996
AbstractThe degradation of PK99 was studied by heating the polymer in both isothermal and dynamic conditions under nitrogen flow and in a static air atmosphere. In both environments this polymer's thermal stability exceeded that of PEEK. The dynamic experiments showed that in both nitrogen and air atmospheres the polymer degraded in two stages with ...
