Hydrogels based on poly(ethylene glycol) diacrylate (PEGDA) have been engineered for a variety of biomedical applications including drug delivery, cell delivery, and tissue engineering. The miniaturization of these materials to nanoscale and microscale particles has been a subject of intense activity, and promises to extend their range of applicability.

To obtain safe, high-performance Li-ion batteries, the development of electrolytes with high impact resistance and high ionic conductivity is important. Ionic conductivity at room temperature has been improved by using poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) diacrylate (PEGDA) to form three-dimensional (3D) networks and solvated ionic liquids. However, the effects

The fabrication of three-dimensional (3D) metal microstructures in a synthetic polymer-based hydrogel is demonstrated by femtosecond laser-induced photoreduction. The linear-shaped silver structure of approximately 2 micrometers in diameter is fabricated inside a biocompatible poly(ethylene glycol) diacrylate (PEGDA) hydrogel.

This paper studies the influences of fabrication parameters on the optical properties of poly(ethylene glycol) diacrylate(PEGDA) hydrogels during polymerization, including the irradiation intensity, irradiation time, photoinitiator concentration, and water content. The refractive index of PEGDA hydrogels polymerized under various conditions is measured,

ABSTRACTThe aim of this work was to assess the diffusive properties of poly(ethylene glycol) diacrylate (PEGDA)‐based hydrogels, derived from low MW prepolymers, in view of potential biomedical applications. Several hydrogels were synthesized through UV irradiation of PEGDA solutions for different exposure times.

Polymer-based scaffolds with bioactive materials offer great potential in bone tissue engineering. Polyethylene glycol diacrylate (PEGDA) scaffolds fabricated via liquid crystal display 3D printing technique lack inherent osteoconductivity. To improve such properties, chitosan of 10 and 20 wt% and nanohydroxyapatite (nHA) (3-10 wt%) were incorporated ...

Objective. The aim of this study was to investigate β-defensin-4 expression in chondrocytes from knee articular cartilage of patients with osteoarthritis (OA) compared to normal cartilage, in vivo, on paraffin sections, and in vitro, on primary chondrocytes culture and after chondrocytes encapsulation in construct hydrogels (PEGDA). Design.
