Semi-IPN's based on linear poly(2,6-dimethyl-1,4-phenylene ether) (PPE) and diamine crosslinked poly(styrene-co-maleic anhydride) (PScoMA) copolymers containing small amounts of maleic anhydride (PSA=4.7wt.-% MA, PSB=5.8 wt-% MA) are studied with respect to the influence of cross-linking on the phase behavior.

Graphene oxide doped poly (styrene-co-maleic anhydride) for high energy supercapacitors
Nanomaterials and Energy, 2023Reliable energy storage materials which can provide enhanced capacitance with good cycling stability along with improved energy and power densities are exceedingly relevant in the commercial arena to attenuate the prevalent energy shortage. Polymers with

Study on polymer blends of poly(styrene-co-acrylonitrile) and poly(styrene-co-maleic anhydride)
Polymer, 1988Abstract Polymer blends of poly(styrene- co -acrylonitrile) and poly(styrene- co -maleic anhydride) have been investigated by differential scanning calorimetry and light scattering measurements. Depending on the copolymer compositions it is possible to obtain miscible and immiscible blends and blends with lower critical solution temperature behaviour.

Fluorescent polymer made from chemical modification of poly(styrene-co-maleic anhydride)
Reactive and Functional Polymers, 2002Abstract Poly(styrene-co-maleic anhydride) (SMA) was modified by commercially available fluorescent dye, 4-amino-N-(2,4-dimethylphenyl)-1,8-naphthalimide, to prepare fluorescent poly(styrene-co-maleimide) (SMI). FT-IR, UV–Vis and fluorescent spectra of this polymer were investigated.

The kinetics of the reaction between a styrene-maleic anhydride copolymer (SMA) and amines was investigated in tetrahydrofuran solution between 0°C and 40°C. This reaction converts the maleic anhydride (MA) into the corresponding amide-acid, while the consecutive reaction of the generated acid with amine forming a diamide or transformation of the acid ...

Photooxidation of poly(styrene-co-maleic anhydride) using a QUVB-313 light source
Polymer Degradation and Stability, 1991Samples of 1:1 and 2:1 poly(styrene-co-maleic anhydride) films were exposed to radiation from a QUVB-313 light source under atmospheric oxygen and their photooxidative reactions studied using FTIR, UV-VIS and 13C NMR spectroscopy. A major finding was that the bulk of the photodegradation resulted in loss of low molecular weight volatile fragments from ...

In the present study, ethylene/vinyl alcohol (EVAL) copolymers with different hydroxyl contents were melt mixed with styrene/maleic anhydride (SMA) copolymers. These two copolymers have functional groups capable of reacting intermolecularly, giving stable products.
