Hydrogen production through water electrolysis calls for a low-cost non-fluoro membrane to make the process economically viable due to the high cost and environmental concerns of the current fluorinated ionomers. Here, we present such an ionomer with high proton conductivity based on the hybrid of commercially available poly(styrene-co-maleic anhydride)

The effects of polystyrene-co-maleic anhydride (SMA) compatibilizer on mechanical, thermal and morphological properties of polystyrene (PS)/zinc oxide (ZnO) composites were investigated for the first time in this study. PS/ZnO composites were prepared using a twin screw extruder and were then molded by compression method.

The imidization of poly(styrene-co-maleic anhydride) (SMA) with aniline by reactive extrusion is investigated in a co-rotating twin-screw extruder. During this reactive extrusion, the process temperature is much higher than the boiling point of the aniline.

Negative Photoresist Materials Based on Poly(Norbornene Derivatives‐co‐styrene‐co‐maleic Anhydride)
Journal of Macromolecular Science, Part A, 2005Photosensitive polymers of norbornene‐co‐styrene‐co‐maleic anhydride with different mole ratios were synthesized as a polymer matrix for UV photoresist. These polymers were prepared by radical polymerization under controlled conditions. These polymers have a higher glass transition temperature than polystyrene and are chemically reactive with certain ...

Rheology and phase separation of poly(styrene-co-maleic anhydride)/poly (methyl methacrylate) blends
2009The effects of shear flow on the phase behavior of a polymer blend with high glass transition temperature, Tg, constituents and small dynamic asymmetry (T,g contrast) were investigated using shear and capillary rheometry, complemented by differential scanning calorimetry and analysis of the extrudates.
