Polyacrylamide and Polyacrylamide/Polysaccharide Hydrogels for Well Water Shutoff in High-Temperature Reservoirs [PDF]

open access: yesGels
Polyacrylamide and polyacrylamide/polysaccharide hydrogels exhibiting high structural and mechanical properties, along with acceptable gelation times and gelant viscosity, are proposed for water shutoff applications in high-temperature reservoirs.

Aligned Cellulose Nanocrystal Composite Filament with High Tensile Strength Enhanced by Cationic Polyacrylamide via Flow Focusing Approach

open access: yesBioResources, 2023
Unsatisfactory macroscopic strength is one of the important reasons that limit the application of cellulose composites. However, the mechanical properties of cellulose composites could be improved by the directional orientation of cellulose nanofibers ...

Preparation of Some mercurated Polyacrylamide and It’s Copolymers and Their Industrial Applications [PDF]

open access: yesKirkuk Journal of Science, 2017
polyacrylamide and some of its copolymers with styrene and N-vinyl carbazole have been prepared by free radical polymerization and some chemical modifications by using bromine, xanthhydrol and mercuration with mercury oxide and mercuric acetate have been

Development of Greener D-Metal Inorganic Crosslinkers for Polymeric Gels Used in Water Control in Oil and Gas Applications

open access: yesEnergies, 2020
Crosslinkable polymers, such as polyacrylamide (PAM), are widely applied for water control in oil and gas reservoirs. Organic and inorganic crosslinkers are used to formulate a gel with PAM.

Poly(acrylic acid-co-acrylamide)/Polyacrylamide pIPNs/Magnetite Composite Hydrogels: Synthesis and Characterization

open access: yesGels, 2023
Novel composite hydrogels based on poly(acrylic acid-co-acrylamide)/polyacrylamide pseudo-interpenetrating polymer networks (pIPNs) and magnetite were prepared via in situ precipitation of Fe3+/Fe2+ ions within the hydrogel structure.

An experimental study on modification of pervious concrete properties using polyacrylamide [PDF]

open access: yesGrađevinski Materijali i Konstrukcije
This study tends to use polyacrylamide (PAM) as a potential cement replacer for the enhancement of pervious concrete properties. The study considers four different replacement percentages and compares them with a zero-percentage replacement mix.

Swelling of polyacrylamide gels in polyacrylamide solutions

open access: yesJournal of Polymer Science Part B: Polymer Physics, 1998
Swelling behavior of polyacrylamide (PAAm) and polyacrylamide-co-poly- acrylic acid (PAAm-co-PAAc) gels was investigated in aqueous solutions of monodis- perse PAAms with molecular weights (M V w) ranging from 1.5 1 10 3 to 5 1 10 6 g/mol. The volume of the gels decreases as the PAAm concentration in the external solution increases.

Environment‐tolerant ionic hydrogel–elastomer hybrids with robust interfaces, high transparence, and biocompatibility for a mechanical–thermal multimode sensor

open access: yesInfoMat, 2023
The human skin, an important sensory organ, responds sensitively to external stimuli under various harsh conditions. However, the simultaneous achievement of mechanical/thermal sensitivity and extreme environmental tolerance remains an enormous challenge
