Usually proteins are separated by polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (PAGE) in the presence of a detergent and under (heat-) denaturing and (non- or) reducing conditions. The most commonly used detergent is sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS). The major function of SDS is to shield the respective charge of the proteins present in the mixture to be analyzed ...

Desorption of polyacrylamide and hydrolized polyacrylamide from kaolinite surface
Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 1984Abstract Desorption of labeled nonionic and hydrolyzed polyacrylamide from kaolinite in NaCl solutions is obtained using sodium metaphosphate as well as unlabeled polyacrylamide, whereas mere dilution with NaCl solution produced no measurable desorption.

Polyacrylamide/graphite and polyacrylamide/titanium dioxide gel electrodes
Analytical Chemistry, 1986Polyacrylamide (pacr) gels have attractive properties that are the basis for several important applications in bioanalytical chemistry. For example, they provide a hydrophilic environment with a controllable pore size that allows for the entrapment and immobilization of biopolymers in their active forms.

Alkaline hydrolysis of polyacrylamide [PDF]
AbstractPolyacrylamide has been reported to show an abnormal behavior on alkaline hydrolysis, that is, the reaction rate is quite high at the initial stage and decreases rapidly with increasing conversion. This phenomenon has been attributed to the polymer structure.

Adsorption of Polyacrylamide and Sulfonated Polyacrylamide on Na-Kaolinite
1981The role of solution properties such as pH, ionic strength, temperature, and solid-to-liquid ratio in determining the adsorption of polymers on minerals is studied by conducting tests using labeled polymers and homoionic kaolinite. Data on the effects of the above variables on the adsorption of polyacrylamide (PAM) and sulfonated polyacrylamide ...

ELECTROPHORESIS OF HISTONES ON POLYACRYLAMIDE GELS
Canadian Journal of Biochemistry and Physiology, 1963Histories extracted from various organs of the rat have been fractionated by electrophoresis on Polyacrylamide gels. The most convenient reagents to form the gel were selected and the effects of varying concentrations of these reagents on the resolution of histones were investigated.
