Immunological studies in cattle exposed to polybrominated biphenyls [PDF]
The intactness of the immune system in cattle exposed to polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs) has been investigated by using several immunoassays. Eighty-seven animals have been studied, 35 control animals (not exposed to PBBs) and 52 animals exposed to PBBs (0.02-30 ppm/g fat equivalent).

Number of Persistent Organic Pollutants Detected at High Concentrations in Blood Samples of the United States Population. [PDF]
Human exposure to environmental chemicals as persistent organic pollutants (POPs) is usually assessed considering each pollutant individually, with little attention to concentrations of mixtures in individuals or social groups.

Dusty Streets: The Challenge of Dust‐Borne Pollutants in Low‐Income Countries
Generally, pollution impacts developed and low‐income countries (LICs) to different extents, and the disease burden due to roadway dust is not uniformly distributed across socio‐economic classes. Roadway dust materials from paved and unpaved urban and rural roads were reported to contain organic constituents which are toxic and affect public health ...

Prenatal exposure to polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) may influence birth weight among infants in a Swedish cohort with background exposure: a cross-sectional study [PDF]
BACKGROUND: Prenatal exposure to persistent organic pollutants, e.g. polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) has been suggested to negatively affect birth weight although epidemiological evidence is still inconclusive.

Microplastic Pollution in Aquaculture: Challenges and Mitigation
ABSTRACT Microplastics (MPs) have gained significant attention due to their potential environmental threat. This paper addresses MPs contamination in aquaculture, a critical concern for food safety and public health. The extensive use and disposal of plastic products in aquaculture, like netting materials, pose a significant threat to aquatic life ...

ABSTRACT This study evaluates the effectiveness of fire barrier solutions for upholstered furniture to enhance passive fire protection and reduce chemical exposure risks during regular use. Upholstered furniture ignition accounts for 22% of fatalities in reported home fires, often due to rapid flame spread and high heat conditions.
