Dynamic-mechanical properties of polybutadiene rubbers
Polymer, 1985Abstract The dynamic properties of high-cis (98%) and cis-trans (42% cis) polybutadienes, crosslinked with 0.1 to 1.0% of crosslinking agent, have been studied using a torsion pendulum method over the temperature range −170 to +20°C. For the high-cis rubber plots of damping factor (tan δ) against temperature showed the expected peak in the glass ...

The Raman Spectra of Polybutadiene Rubbers
Rubber Chemistry and Technology, 1969Abstract The Raman spectra of cis-1,4-, trans-1,4-, and 1,2-polybutadiene are presented. Analysis of the spectra of these model compounds, and the normal coordinate results, enable the Raman frequencies to be classified by configurational structure type.

Random Polybutadiene Rubber Networks with Unattached Chains
Macromolecules, 1998The preparation and characterization of randomly cross-linked polybutadiene (PB) networks containing unattached PB chains are presented. These were used as model systems for the experimental study of the dynamics of linear chains trapped in networks, which is the basic model of the reptation-in-a-tube model of Doi and Edwards.

Polybutadiene and Polyisoprene Rubbers
1987The history and development of both polyisoprene and polybutadiene rubbers closely parallel each other. Each of these rubbers rose from meager beginnings to become keystones in the rubber and tire industries. The highlights of the progress made in these synthetic elastomers since their discovery have been reviewed in several articles.1 ...

Quasi-analytical kinetic model for natural rubber and polybutadiene rubber blends
Reaction Kinetics, Mechanisms and Catalysis, 2017A very simple kinetic model for natural rubber (NR) and polybutadiene (PB) blends is presented. The model is characterized by a completely uncoupled curing between NR and PB, NR being modeled with a primary vulcanization and a subsequent de-vulcanization and PB only by a simple first order model of vulcanization.

ABSTRACTOrgano‐montmorillonite was incorporated into model tire tread formulations through latex compounding methods, to evaluate its effects on elastomer reinforcement and dynamic properties. An intercalation structure was obtained by applying latex compounding method to prepare organoclay‐emulsion stryene butadiene (E‐SBR) masterbatches, for ...

AbstractNew paraphenylene diamine antioxidants were prepared. The efficiency and permanence of these oligomer‐bound paraphenylene diamines were compared with those of conventional amine‐type antioxidants in elastomer blends such as natural rubber/styrene–butadiene rubber and natural rubber/polybutadiene rubber.

New method for preparing polybutadiene rubber/clay composites
Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 2005AbstractPolybutadiene rubber (BR)/clay/dimethyl dihydrogenatetallow ammonium chloride (DDAC) composites were prepared by a new preparation method named in situ organic modification. That is, BR, pristine clay, and quaternary ammonium salt were directly melt‐mixed without the usual pretreatment of the pristine clay with an intercalatant.

Octadecylammonium montmorillonite/natural rubber/cis-1,4-polybutadiene nanocomposites
Applied Clay Science, 2010Abstract Octadecylammonium montmorillonite/natural rubber/cis-1,4-polybutadiene (OMMT/NR/BR) nanocomposites were prepared by direct mechanical blending. The structure of these nanocomposites and the dispersion state of OMMT particles were evaluated by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The cure characteristics, static
