"Preparation of 1,2-polybutadiene coated silica using thiol-ene click method and its reinforcement for styrene-butadiene rubber"

open access: yesHecheng xiangjiao gongye
Hydrophobic silica coated with 1,2-polybutadiene (Silica-PBs) was prepared using thiol-ene click method. Infrared spectroscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy analysis confirmed that the surface of Silica-PBs was coated with 1,2-polybutadiene with ...

PARTIAL DESULFURIZATION OF CRUMB RUBBER IN THE PRESENCE OF METALLIC OXIDES

open access: yesStudia Universitatis Babes-Bolyai Chemia, 2023
Sulfur has been used for a long time as a vulcanizing agent for polybutadiene and polyisoprene rubber. The presence of sulfur in the used crumb rubber powder reduces its dispersion in the bitumen and favors its separation from the colloidal structure of ...

Natural rubber/styrene-butadiene rubber blends prepared by solution mixing: Influence of vulcanization temperature using a Semi-EV sulfur curing system on the microstructural properties [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Blends of natural rubber (NR) and styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) were prepared by solution mixing and vulcanized with sulfur and accelerator in a Semi-EV system at 433 K and 443 K in order to study the vulcanization kinetic and the influence of ...

Water Permeates and Plasticizes Amorphous Carbon Dots: Unraveling the Inner Accessibility of the Nanoparticles by Glass Transition Studies

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The water permeability of amorphous carbon dots (CDs) is demonstrated by investigating their plasticization. Novel polyamide‐based and amorphous nanoparticles are synthesized by controlling their inner packing density. Water plasticization is evidenced by the decrease of the CDs glass transition temperature with increasing the hydration degree.

The Effect of Silica Filler Source on the Mechanical Properties of Composite Rubber [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences
Rubber composite is a high molecular weight polymer, produced from natural or synthetic rubber with sulfur as its common crosslinking agent. To improve the mechanical properties of rubber, filler with high silica content was usually added.

Oil and fat absorbing polymers [PDF]

open access: yes, 1977
A method is described for forming a solid network polymer having a minimal amount of crosslinking for use in absorbing fats and oils. The polymer remains solid at a swelling ratio in oil or fat of at least ten and provides an oil absorption greater than ...
