Osteoclast-like multinucleated giant cells reinforce polycaprolactone grafts
Successful application of advanced engineered materials in osteoplasty requires a biological understanding of the recipient reaction. The immune system acts like a double-edged sword by maintaining targeted tissue and rejecting grafts. Nevertheless, even

Biodegradable polyetherester copolymer (PCL/PEG/PCL, PCEC) was synthesized by ring-opening polymerization of epsilon-caprolactone initiated by poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG). The PCEC nanoparticles were prepared by solvent diffusion method or w/o/w double emulsion method. The obtained particles' morphology was observed on scanning electron microscopy, and

The incorporation of nondigested ECM and synthetic polymers into a co‐electrospinning system enables the decoupling of bioactivity and mechanical properties within a single wrap. This technique is used to develop a multifunctional bone wrap that achieves augmented membrane durability, sustained infection control, and enhanced vascularity for use in ...

Physical characterization of polycaprolactone scaffolds
Films and sponges were prepared from a solution of Poly(epsilon-caprolactone) (PCL) in tetrahydrofuran (THF). The porosity, crystallinity, and mechanical properties of the samples were studied. Porosity of around 15% was obtained for the films produced by evaporation of THF at room temperature.

Poly(furfuryl alcohol)-Polycaprolactone Blends [PDF]
Poly(furfuryl alcohol) (PFA) is a bioresin synthesized from furfuryl alcohol (FA) that is derived from renewable saccharide-rich biomass. In this study, we compounded this bioresin with polycaprolactone (PCL) for the first time, introducing new functional polymer blends.
