Metabolism of polychlorinated dibenzofurans (PCDFs) in rats
Chemosphere, 1990Abstract Metabolism of polychlorinated dibenzofurans (PCDFs) was investigated in rats using a mixture of PCDF congeners, including 1,2,7,8-tetra-, 2,3,7,8-tetra- and 1,2,3,7,8-penta-CDFs as major components. The feces of rat dosed with PCDFs were examined for unchanged PCDFs, hydroxylated and sulfur-containing metabolites by gas chromatography (GC ...

Atmospheric Environment, 2003
Abstract A dynamic gas saturation technique was used to measure the solid-phase vapor pressures (pSo) of six polychlorinated dibenzodioxins (PCDDs) and seven polychlorinated dibenzofurans (PCDFs) at 25°C. Three polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (phenanthrene, anthracene, and chrysene) were also examined to validate the method.

Emissions of Polychlorinated Dibenzo-p-Dioxins and Dibenzofurans (PCDD/PCDFs) in Iran
Bulletin of Environmental Contamination and Toxicology, 2011The aim of this study was estimation of PCDD/PCDFs emissions from various sources in Iran. The results indicated total PCDD/PCDFs emissions in Iran in 2010, was 1,957 g TEQ. Of this amount, about 705.8, 0.5, 463.5, 144.1 and 643.2 g TEQ/year was released to air, water, land, products, and in residues, respectively.

Aqueous solubilities of selected 2,3,7,8-substituted polychlorinated dibenzofurans (PCDFs)
Chemosphere, 1990Abstract Aqueous solubilities are reported for a series of 2,3,7,8-chlorinated dibenzofurans, 2,3,7,8-tetra-, 2,3,4,7,8-penta-, 1,2,3,6,7,8-hexa-, 1,2,3,4,7,8-hexa-, and 1,2,3,4,6,7,8-heptachlorodibenzofuran, at 22.7°C. The solubilities of the solid solutes decrease approximately 8-fold for each additional chlorine in the structure, ranging from 419 ±

Synthesis and mass spectral properties of polychlorinated dibenzofuran (PCDF) metabolites
Chemosphere, 1987Abstract A large number of hydroxy-, dihydroxy-PCDF and sulfur-containing compounds such as methylthio (MeS)-, methylsulfoxide (MeSO)- and methylsulfone (MeSO 2 )-PCDF congeners were synthesized and their mass spectra were investigated. The 2(8)-MeSO 2 -PCDF showed an intense ion due to loss of SO 2 CH 3 from the molecular (M + ) ion, while 3(7 ...

A new method has been developed to describe the quantitative relationship between molecular structures of PCDFs and their gas chromatographic retention indices on a 30-m fused silica column coated with DB-5 stationary phase. The regression equation is derived with a multiple correlation coefficient greater than 0.9995.
