MONITORING OF POLYCYCLIC AROMATIC HYDROCARBONS IN PRUNUS SPINOSA TREE COMPONENTS FROM CLUJ-NAPOCA AREA, ROMANIA

open access: yesAgricultura, 2022
Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) occur as contaminants in different types of food mainly as a result of environmental pollution, food packaging and processing. The levels observed in food are determined by the source of the contamination.

Heavy metal and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in cigarettes: An analytical assessment

open access: yesPopulation Medicine, 2020
Introduction Tobacco products contain heavy metals and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) that can be released during burning. The aim of this study was to measure the concentrations in tobacco of the heavy metals: Lead (Pb), Cadmium (Cd), Chrome ...

π‐Radical Cascades to Peri‐Fused Triangulene Dimers

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
We demonstrate the potential of open‐shell molecular graphene fragments as synthons for constructing graphene nanostructures via π‐radical cascades. By identifying monoradical intermediates as key selectivity‐determining species and tuning steric effects in a triangulene precursor, we show that reactivity in a formally diradical system can be ...

Zinc Exposure Causes Disulfidptosis to Induce Miscarriage by Up‐Regulating GATA1/METTL1/SLC7A11 Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Zn exposure up‐regulates GATA1, promoting GATA1‐mediated METTL1 and SLC7A11 transcription. It also enhances METTL1‐mediated m7G modification on SLC7A11 mRNA, increasing SLC7A11 mRNA stability. Ultimately, Zn exposure up‐regulates SLC7A11 at both transcriptional and post‐transcriptional levels, causing disulfidptosis. Knockdown of murine Slc7a11, Gata1,

Ring‐Opening Arylation of Cyclic Diaryliodoniums via Cyclic Triaryliodanes as Aryne Precursors and Dynamic Aryl Reservoirs

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Cyclic diaryliodonium salts engage aryl Grignard reagents to trigger a self‐propagating aryne–arylation cycle. Transient cyclic triaryliodanes serve as aryne precursors and dynamic aryl reservoirs, delivering iodine‐capped teraryls with predominant meta‐selectivity. The preserved C─I bond enables outward π‐extension or inward recyclization.

Oxygenated polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in the surface water environment: Occurrence, ecotoxicity, and sources

open access: yesEnvironment International, 2022
Oxygenated polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (OPAHs) have been ubiquitously detected in atmospheric, soil, sediment, and water environments, some of which show higher concentrations and toxicities than the parent polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs ...
