Urogynecologic Symptoms Are Not Specific to Anatomic Region of Digestive Symptoms

open access: yesNeurogastroenterology &Motility, EarlyView.
Urogynecologic symptoms are common in patients with DGBIs, regardless of the affected area of the GI tract. We recommend screening for these symptoms in all patients with chronic GI symptoms. ABSTRACT Background/Aims Many patients with digestive symptoms describe underlying urinary or gynecologic symptoms, which may increase visceral sensitivity in the

Behavior change techniques in low‐calorie and very low‐calorie diet interventions for weight loss: A systematic review with meta‐analysis

open access: yesObesity Reviews, Volume 26, Issue 5, May 2025.
Summary Background There is limited evidence and clinical guidelines on the behavior change support required for low‐calorie diet programs. This systematic review aimed to establish the behavior change technique(s) (BCT) implemented in weight loss interventions (≤1200 kcal/d) and how these contribute to effectiveness.

Discrepancies Between Recommendations in Evidence‐Based Guidelines for the Management of Obesity in Adolescents and Adults: An Evidence Map

open access: yesObesity Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background/Aim The aim of this evidence map is to provide a systematic overview of evidence‐based guidelines for the management of obesity and to highlight discrepancies between recommendations for the pediatric and adult populations. Knowing about these discrepancies may be relevant during the transition from pediatrics to adult healthcare to

Photodynamic priming overcomes platinum resistance from short‐term exposure to select perfluoroalkyl substances in endometrial cancer cell lines

open access: yesPhotochemistry and Photobiology, EarlyView.
PFAS are widespread environmental contaminants that are associated with platinum resistance and mitochondrial membrane hyperpolarization in endometrial cancer cell lines. Photodynamic therapy, using BPD or ALA‐PpIX, in combination with low‐dose carboplatin overcomes PFAS‐induced platinum resistance in endometrial cancer cell lines.

Exploring experimental models of prostate cancer in chemoprevention: Oxidative stress as a key pathway to translational research

open access: yesPathology International, Volume 75, Issue 3, Page 131-144, March 2025.
Animal models are essential for understanding and preventing cancer progression. The TRAP (Transgenic Rat for Adenocarcinoma of the Prostate) model effectively mirrors human prostate cancer (PCa) progression, demonstrating the roles of androgen receptor signaling and oxidative stress in PCa development and the transition to castration‐resistant ...
