New Potential Agent in Ovarian Ischemia Reperfusion Injury: Alpha Pinene

open access: yesJournal of Biochemical and Molecular Toxicology, Volume 39, Issue 6, June 2025.
The present study determined that alpha‐pinene has protective effects on ovarian ischemia‐reperfusion injury with its anti‐inflammatory, antioxidative, antiapoptotic, and autophagy inhibitory effects. It can form the basis for comprehensive studies to evaluate its potential use against ovarian ischemia‐reperfusion injury in clinical practice.

Myosteatosis as a New Risk Factor of Surgical Complications in Kidney Transplant Recipients: A Retrospective Study

open access: yesJournal of Cachexia, Sarcopenia and Muscle, Volume 16, Issue 3, June 2025.
ABSTRACT Background Computed tomography (CT) scan–defined myosteatosis is a common feature in ESKD patients receiving kidney transplantation (KT) and is associated with mortality after KT. We aimed to explore the impact of myosteatosis and other CT scan based morphometric data on the occurrence of early surgical complications after KT.

Combining Multifrequency Magnetic Resonance Elastography With Automatic Segmentation to Assess Renal Function in Patients With Chronic Kidney Disease

open access: yesJournal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Volume 61, Issue 6, Page 2543-2555, June 2025.
Background Multifrequency MR elastography (mMRE) enables noninvasive quantification of renal stiffness in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD). Manual segmentation of the kidneys on mMRE is time‐consuming and prone to increased interobserver variability. Purpose To evaluate the performance of mMRE combined with automatic segmentation in assessing

Evaluating Quality of Care Indicators for Metastasis Development in Cutaneous Squamous Cell Carcinoma Among Mexican Renal Transplant Recipients

open access: yesJEADV Clinical Practice, Volume 4, Issue 2, Page 499-502, June 2025.
ABSTRACT Background Cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC) poses a high metastatic risk in immunosuppressed individuals, especially organ transplant recipients (OTRs). Despite international guidelines recognizing these risks, no universal standard exists for assessing quality of care (QoC) in cSCC.

Decoding the Taste of Peptides: Structure, Interactions With Taste Receptors, Bioactivities, and Applications

open access: yesSustainable Food Proteins, Volume 3, Issue 2, June 2025.
This comprehensive review highlights the role of taste‐active peptides (TAPs) in modulating food taste and promoting health. It explores the taste profile, structure, sources, interactions with taste receptors, bioactivity, and potential applications of TAPs within the food and nutraceutical industries.

Postkidney Transplant Delayed Graft Function Outcomes Are Not Worsened by Deceased Donor Type

open access: yesClinical Transplantation, Volume 39, Issue 6, June 2025.
ABSTRACT Introduction Kidney‐delayed graft function (DGF) is more common in donation after circulatory death (DCD) donors in comparison to donatation after brain death (DBD). We analyzed deceased kidney transplant recipients (DDKTR) at our center between 2005 and 2019, stratified by donor type (DBD vs. DCD).
