AbstractA series of waterborne polyurethane (WPU) derived from isophorone isocyanate and poly(tetramethylene glycol) were modified by hydroxyl‐terminated polydimethylsiloxane (HPMS). The solutions were then cast into films named as PUHS. Rheological behavior of the emulsions were studied using Rheometer and morphology was studied with transmission ...

Abstract From 3-hydroxymethyl-3-methyl oxetane, we synthesized three oxetane monomers with allylic, diethoxysilane or triethoxysilane functions. These monomers allowed us to prepare different polydimethylsiloxanes bearing oxetane groups by two routes.

Rheology of trimethylsiloxysilsesquioxanes in polydimethylsiloxane
Russian Journal of Physical Chemistry A, 2009Properties of the MQ polymer solution in PDMS elastomer in the temperature range 266.7–351.1 K are investigated using the viscometry technique. On the basis of viscosity and density isotherms, the solutions in question are shown to belong to the systems whose viscosity is a function of free fluctuation volume of their constituent components.

Thermodynamics of polydimethylsiloxane solutions
Journal of the Chemical Society, Faraday Transactions 1: Physical Chemistry in Condensed Phases, 1973Solvent chemical potentials and heats of dilution have been obtained for systems containing polydimethylsiloxane and solvents comprising normal and branched alkanes, aromatic hydrocarbons and dimethylsiloxane oligomers. Using the Flory–Huggins approximation to eliminate the combinatorial contribution to ΔSM, the results are expressed as concentration ...

Emulsion Polymerized Polydimethylsiloxane
Rubber Chemistry and Technology, 1983Abstract The observations are consistent with the formation of grafts of hydrophilic silicates to the silanol chain ends at the surface of the PDMS emulsion particles prior to removal of the water. The silicates may be introduced into the system directly or through the alkaline colloidal silica, which contains appreciable amounts of dissolved ...

Polydimethylsiloxane quenchable vitrimers
Polymer Chemistry, 2017Reprocessable and recyclable PDMS vitrimers can be transformed into “quenched” vitrimers that exhibit conventional elastomer properties.

On the thermal decomposition of polydimethylsiloxanes
Science of The Total Environment, 1988Abstract The IRS laser-induced degradations of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) vapors have been studied in order to determine whether the high temperature thermal properties of the dimethylsiloxane unit is best represented by SiO bond rearrangement (the conventional pyrolysis mechanism) or SiC bond cleavage (the thermodynamic reaction pathway).

A Study of Monodispersed Polydimethylsiloxanes
Journal of the Chinese Chemical Society, 1988AbstractA series of monodispersed polydimenthylsiloxanes (PDMS) with molecular weights from 3K to 156K were synthesized. The intrinsic viscosity and absolute molecular weight of each monodispersed PDMS was measured and the Mark‐Houwink equation for the PDMS series in toluene at 25°C was derived: [eta;]=2.88 × 10−4 M0.613.

Environmental Occurrence of Polydimethylsiloxane
Environmental Science & Technology, 1997An extensive monitoring program was conducted to determine the occurrence of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) in environmental compartments impacted by consumer waste disposal practices. Eight wastewater treatment plants, representative of those found in North America, were monitored to determine PDMS removal during wastewater treatment.

Attachment of drugs to polydimethylsiloxanes
European Polymer Journal, 1984Abstract Polydimethylsiloxane, which is a biologically inert polymer, was used as a carrier polymer for drugs. Functional groups were introduced into the polymer to enable attachment to drugs. Polymers (and oligomers) having carboxyl, amine or hydroxyl groups were prepared from polydimethylsiloxanes having different distributions of SiH groups which
