Flow behavior of polydimethylsiloxane
Journal of Polymer Science Part A: General Papers, 1965AbstractViscosities of polydimethylsiloxane were measured over a wide range of shear rates and molecular weights to clarify the flow behavior of bulk polymers. It was observed that each flow curve for high molecular weight samples had an inflection point, and at high shear rates all curves tended to converge.

Synthesis of a Polydimethylsiloxane Macromonomer
INEOS OPENA method for the synthesis of a polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) macromonomer using the interfacial polycondensation (IP) is presented. The resulting macromonomer was characterized by 1H NMR spectroscopy and gel permeation chromatography (GPC). In addition, its interfacial activity was measured.

Elasticity of Polydimethylsiloxane Melts
Nature, 1968THE observation of Mieras and Van Rijn1 that the steady shear flow compliance of polymer melts is dependent only on the width of the molecular weight distribution, characterized by Mz/Mw, is in accord with our similar measurements on polydimethylsiloxane melts.

Diffusion of Methanol in Polydimethylsiloxane
Journal of Polymer Science Part A-1: Polymer Chemistry, 1966AbstractThe permeation and sorption of methanol in polydimethylsiloxane at 10 and 30°C. has been measured and the results analyzed to determine the concentration dependence of the steady‐state diffusion coefficient D which is found to decrease as the total concentration C is increased.
