Polydispersity index from linear viscoelastic data: unimodal and bimodal linear polymer melts [PDF]

open access: yesPolymer, 2003
This article describes a method for determining the polydispersity index Ip2=Mz/Mw of the molecular weight distribution (MWD) of linear polymeric materials from linear viscoelastic data. The method uses the Mellin transform of the relaxation modulus of a simple molecular rheological model.

Impact of Particle Size and Polydispersity Index on the Clinical Applications of Lipidic Nanocarrier Systems [PDF]

open access: yesPharmaceutics, 2018
Lipid-based drug delivery systems, or lipidic carriers, are being extensively employed to enhance the bioavailability of poorly-soluble drugs. They have the ability to incorporate both lipophilic and hydrophilic molecules and protecting them against degradation in vitro and in vivo.

Study and formation of vesicle systems with low polydispersity index by ultrasound method

open access: yesChemistry and Physics of Lipids, 2006
The formation of liposomes with low polydispersity index by application of ultrasounds was investigated considering methodology specifications such as sonication time and sonication power. Phosphatidylcholine (PC) liposomes were formed by the evaporation-hydration method. The vesicles were sonicated using several sonication conditions.

The Use of Artificial Neural Networks for Optimizing Polydispersity Index (PDI) in Nanoprecipitation Process of Acetaminophen in Microfluidic Devices [PDF]

open access: yesAAPS PharmSciTech, 2012
Artificial neural networks (ANNs) were used in this study to determine factors that control the polydispersity index (PDI) in an acetaminophen nanosuspension which was prepared using nanoprecipitation in microfluidic devices. The PDI of prepared formulations was measured by dynamic light scattering.

Twin Screw Melt Granulation: A Single Step Approach for Developing Self-Emulsifying Drug Delivery System for Lipophilic Drugs

open access: yesPharmaceutics, 2023
The current research aims to improve the solubility of the poorly soluble drug, i.e., ibuprofen, by developing self-emulsifying drug delivery systems (SEDDS) utilizing a twin screw melt granulation (TSMG) approach.

A Comparative Study of the Effect of Different Stabilizers on the Critical Quality Attributes of Self-Assembling Nano Co-Crystals

open access: yesPharmaceutics, 2020
Lamivudine (3TC) and zidovudine (AZT) are antiviral agents used orally to manage HIV/AIDS infection. A pseudo one-solvent bottom-up approach was used to develop and produce nano co-crystals of 3TC and AZT. Equimolar amounts of 3TC dissolved in de-ionized

Study of Atom Transfer Radical Polymerization of Styrene and Its Gel Effect by Monte Carlo Simulation Method [PDF]

open access: yesعلوم و تکنولوژی پلیمر, 2009
Atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) of styrene was carried out at 105°C and a Monte Carlo simulation was employed to model the system. The variations of monomer conversion, the initiator concentration, average molecular weight, and molecular ...
