A Triple‐Nanoparticle System for Controlled Graphene Nanosheet Stacking: Enabling K/Na‐Ion Battery Anodes with Ultra‐Fast Charging Exceeding Petroleum Vehicle Refueling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Large‐ion (K, Na) battery systems mitigate uneven global lithium distribution, while their ability to attain recharge time shorter than refueling would remove the final barrier for secondary batteries to replace petroleum vehicles. However, their large‐ion chemistry makes ultra‐fast charging an even significant challenge.

Antibacterial Silver Nanoparticle Containing Polydopamine Hydrogels That Enhance Re-Epithelization

open access: yesGels
A polydopamine polyelectrolyte hydrogel was developed by ionic crosslinking dextran sulfate with a copolymer of polyethyleneimine and polydopamine. Gelation was promoted by the slow hydrolysis of glucono-δ-lactone.

Bioadhesive Hydrogel With Polyphenol‐Armored Nanogene Rejuvenates Chondrocyte Senescence for Aged Osteoarthritis Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An adhesive hydrogel depot with polyphenol‐armored nanogenes is developed for treating aged osteoarthritis. This system maintains miR‐140 bioactivity, prolongs its intra‐articular retention, and enhances transfection into chondrocytes, leading to the downregulation of senescence‐associated pathways.

Biological and Physical Characterization of Surface-Modified Grade V Titanium Alloy

open access: yesInternational Journal of Dentistry
Surface modification and biomimetic approaches have been widely used to enhance bioinert substances. It is not very clear whether surface alterations and polymer coatings on titanium make it more biologically active and enhance cell adhesion. We tried to

Development and Characterization of an Antimicrobial Polydopamine Coating for Conservation of Humpback Whales

open access: yesFrontiers in Chemistry, 2019
Migration patterns of humpback whales have been monitored using 316L stainless steel (SS) satellite telemetry tags. The potential for tissue infection and necrosis is increased if the bacteria, naturally a part of the diverse microbiome on the skin of ...

Soft and Adhesive Cardiac Patch for Electrophysiological and Contraction Measurement

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study developed an epicardial electronic patch with a modulus similar to that of the heart (approximately 65kPa), which can collect stable electrocardiogram signals and myocardial contractility on the surface of a dynamically beating heart. This is attributed to the hydrogen bond interaction formed between the amino and catechol groups in the ...

Intestinal Source Control of Lipid Metabolism by Enzyme‐Probiotic Encapsulated, Spatiotemporal Crosslinked, and Small Intestine‐Adhesive Hydrogel Microspheres

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A thiol‐modified alginate hydrogel microsphere‐encapsulated enzyme‐probiotic biohybrid (AKK‐COD) system has been developed to address the spatiotemporal delivery and colonization challenges of small intestine‐targeted probiotic for lipid metabolism regulation. The system exerts sequential functions of intragastric protection, small intestinal adhesion,
