A constitutive model of polyether-ether-ketone (PEEK)

open access: yesJournal of the Mechanical Behavior of Biomedical Materials, 2016
A modified Johnson-Cook (JC) model was proposed to describe the flow behaviour of polyether-ether-ketone (PEEK) with the consideration of coupled effects of strain, strain rate and temperature. As compared to traditional JC model, the modified one has better ability to predict the flow behaviour at elevated temperature conditions.

Study on the AFM Force Curve Common Errors and Their Effects on the Calculated Nanomechanical Properties of Materials

open access: yesJournal of Engineering, 2016
The atomic force microscope (AFM) force curve has been widely used for determining the mechanical properties of materials due to its high resolution, whereby very low (piconewton) forces and distances as small as nanometers can be measured.

The Role of Polyether Ether Ketone (Peek) in Dentistry – A Review

open access: yesJournal of Medicine and Life, 2019
This study is aimed to review the applications of Polyether Ether Ketone (PEEK) in dentistry. The increased demand for aesthetics, legislation in some developed countries, few drawbacks with existing materials and clinicians shifting their paradigms towards metal free restorations led space for the metal-free restorations in today’s dental practice. An

An investigation of Polyether Imide (PEI) toughening of carbon fibre-reinforced Polyether Ether Ketone (PEEK) laminates

open access: yesMaterials & Design, 2021
Current thermoset composite material systems have relatively low interlaminar fracture toughness, leaving them vulnerable to impact damage. While thermoplastic based systems are considered to be tougher, toughness levels can be dependent on processing ...

Co-consolidation of CF/PEEK tape-preforms and CF/PEEK organo sheets to manufacture reinforcements in stamp-forming process

open access: yesAdvanced Manufacturing: Polymer & Composites Science, 2019
Co-consolidation is considered one effective joining method to allow novel types of integral structures to be manufactured. In this study, carbon fiber reinforced Polyether-Ether-Ketone partially consolidated tape preforms were co-consolidated with ...

Fabrication and properties of interweaved poly(ether ether ketone) composite scaffolds

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2022
This paper interweaved scaffolds with poly(ether ether ketone) (PEEK) and poly(lactic acid)/Walnut shell/hydroxypatite (PLA/WS/HA) composites by using fused filament fabrication technology, although there was a huge difference in thermal property term ...

Local deformation behavior of surface porous polyether-ether-ketone [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Mechanical Behavior of Biomedical Materials, 2017
Surface porous polyether-ether-ketone has the ability to maintain the tensile monotonic and cyclic strength necessary for many load bearing orthopedic applications while providing a surface that facilitates bone ingrowth; however, the relevant deformation behavior of the pore architecture in response to various loading conditions is not yet fully ...
