Nonthermal plasma approaches for combating implant‐associated infections: A compendious review
Implant‐associated infections pose serious clinical challenges. Non‐thermal plasma (NTP) modifications overcome this bottleneck in distinct ways relative to traditional sterilization methods. Gas‐phase plasmas generate highly energetic species, UV radiation and reactive oxygen/nitrogen species (RONS), which alter the implant surface properties.

Polyetheretherketone (PEEK) in Dentistry
There has been a constant research in identifying ideal restorative materials to replace lost dentofacial structures. Material such as wood, shell, ivory, rubbers to metals and plastics have been tried in the past. Advancements in dental materials have given dentistry more promising materials, yet each material remains short of being the ideal one ...

Abstract Purpose To evaluate the marginal gap of two‐piece polyetheretherketone (PEEK) abutments fabricated with different methods, before and after thermal cycling, while also focusing on their pull‐off bond strength. Materials and Methods A two‐piece abutment was virtually designed after digitizing a titanium‐base (Ti‐base) abutment.

Wear resistance of carbon coatings produced on polyetheretherketone using RFCVD process
<p> Polyetheretherketone (PEEK) and composite polymer material containing 15% carbon fibers and 5% graphite polyetheretherketone-based (PEEK T) are applied in wider scale as substitutes for metal alloys in medicine due to their good mechanical ...

Temperature Influence on the Creep Behavior of a Carbon Fiber/Polyetheretherketone Composite [PDF]
Carbon/PEEK Fiber Composites materials have, generally, a viscoelastic behavior and the mechanical properties are time dependent. These materials have gained an explosive use in the last decades, hence the need to determine their mechanical properties as

Abstract This case report highlights the experience of one maxillofacial surgical patient who delayed prosthodontic treatment for 7 years as they saved to self‐fund access to a subsidized prosthodontic service. Without the benefit of a restored opposing dentition for a prolonged period of time, maxillary occlusal plane disruption occurred as a ...
