A One‐Step Workflow for Size‐Based Separation of Extracellular Vesicles With Integrated Surface Marker Detection

open access: yesJournal of Extracellular Biology, Volume 5, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are released by diverse cell types in biofluids and are increasingly studied in liquid biopsies as diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers for various diseases, including cancer. Typically, the analysis of EV‐associated biomarker characteristics such as size and surface markers requires pre‐purification from large ...

High nitrogen fixation and Braarudosphaera presence in the North Sea

open access: yesLimnology and Oceanography, Volume 71, Issue 3, March 2026.
Abstract Nitrogen fixation, the microbial conversion of dinitrogen gas to ammonia, is a key nitrogen source and critical for sustaining marine productivity. We investigated the diversity and activity of nitrogen‐fixers in surface waters of the North Sea and Norwegian coast during July 2023.

Summertime methane and carbon dioxide emission rates and associated variables from a national‐scale survey of 146 reservoirs in the United States

open access: yesLimnology and Oceanography Letters, Volume 11, Issue 2, March 2026.
Abstract Reservoirs are globally important sources of greenhouse gases, but the magnitude of their emissions is highly uncertain. Here, we present data for 146 reservoirs from two surveys of reservoir methane and carbon dioxide emissions, one at the regional scale in the midwestern United States and one at the national scale in the United States, plus ...

The Graphene Oxide Memristive DNA Sensor for Taxonomic Fingerprint

open access: yesMacromolecular Materials and Engineering, Volume 311, Issue 3, March 2026.
A graphene oxide–based memristive DNA sensor enables rapid, label‐free quantification of nucleotide base composition across 37%–55% GC with strong linear calibration. Delivering results within 2–5 min, the platform combines high sensitivity with minimal sample preparation, offering a practical tool for point‐of‐care diagnostics, genetic fingerprinting,

X‐Linked Inhibitor of Apoptosis Protein (XIAP) Contributes to ERK1/2‐Mediated Anoikis Resistance in Hepatocellular Carcinoma

open access: yesMedComm – Oncology, Volume 5, Issue 1, March 2026.
A schematic model of how XIAP contributes to ERK1/2‐mediated anoikis resistance in HCC. The expression of XIAP is upregulated in HCC cells upon detachment, which contributes to their anoikis resistance. Phosphorylation of XIAP on Ser87 and the BIR 2/3 domains of XIAP are necessary for anoikis resistance of HCC cells.
