In Vivo‐Like Scaffold‐Free 3D In Vitro Models of Muscular Dystrophies: The Case for Anchored Cell Sheet Engineering in Personalized Medicine

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
The scaffold‐free Anchored Cell Sheet Engineering platform is used to create three‐dimensional (3D) in vitro models of skeletal muscle tissue that replicate key features of Duchenne and Myotonic dystrophies. These personalized tissue models, validated by histological, immunostaining, and proteomics analyses, accurately mimic disease phenotypes and ...

Biomimetic Glycosaminoglycan‐Analog Hydrogel for Improved Embolization of Aneurysms: Environment‐Selective Swelling

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Biomimetic glycosaminoglycan analog hydrogels exhibit suitable and robust mechanical properties, as well as hemocompatibility and biocompatibility, making them ideal for the embolization of intracranial aneurysms. Notably, the hydrogel's environment‐selective swelling properties enable complete blockage of the aneurysm cavity while preventing ...

Flow Properties of Several Types of Liquid Flows through Micro-Orifices

open access: yesJournal of Fluid Science and Technology, 2011
The flow properties of several types of liquid passing through various sizes of micro-orifices were investigated in this paper. The jet thrust and pressure drops were measured for two polyethylene glycol solutions and four surfactant solutions. Different

Reaction-limited Colloidal Aggregation Induced by Salt and Inert Polymers [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2007
Salt-induced aggregation of 20 nm colloidal silica is followed by light transmission, which shows an a kinetic form exp[-(t/t_0)^{\alpha}], where \alpha = 2.6 and t_0 is an empirical time constant which reflects the colloidal stability. We found a power law dependence of t_0 on ionic strength, which can be explained by the classical DLVO theory.

Lycium‐Barbarum Polysaccharide‐Loaded Dual‐Crosslinked Rigid Hydrogel Enhances Bone Healing in Diabetic Bone Defects by Scavenging Reactive Oxygen Species

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A novel hydrogel (HLBP) incorporating natural polysaccharides from goji berries is developed to enhance diabetic bone defect healing. The hydrogel efficiently scavenges ROS, improves osteogenic differentiation, and promotes in vivo bone regeneration. This strategy offers a biocompatible and localized approach, overcoming the challenges of traditional ...

An SERS study of the galvanostatic sequence employed for the electrochemical deposition of Copper in the fabrication of Interconnects [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2007
This paper reports the first study carried out by surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) during the galvanostatic electrodeposition (ECD) of copper from an acidic sulphate solution, in the presence of polyethylene glycol (PEG), bis-(3-sulfopropyl)-disulfide Na salt (SPS), benzyl-phenyl modified polyethyleneimine (BPPEI) and chloride ions.
