Synthesis of cinnamolide and polygodial
Journal of the Chemical Society, Chemical Communications, 1981Starting from 2,6,6-trimethyl-1-vinylcyclohex-1-ene a short synthesis of the sesquiterpenes cinnamolide and polygodial has been achieved with 60% and 57% overall yields, respectively.

Synthesis of all possible stereoisomers of polygodial
Tetrahedron Letters, 1984Abstract The three possible isomers of polygodial, epimers at C-9, cis and trans fused, are described. Controlled kinetic and thermodynamic epimerizations allow preparation of all stereoisomers from the same key intermediate.

Efficient total syntheses of polygodial and drimenin.
Tetrahedron Letters, 1981Abstract A short and stereoselective total synthesis of (±) polygodial and drimenin is presented. The efficiency of the synthesis is due to the easy access to intermediate diol 4 and its successful direct oxidation into polygodial.

Assessment of Mechanisms Involved in Antinociception Caused by Sesquiterpene Polygodial
The Journal of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics, 2000Polygodial, a sesquiterpene isolated from the bark of Drymis winteri given systemically, intraplantarly, or by spinal or supraspinal sites, produced antinociception when assessed in both phases of the formalin test and against capsaicin-induced pain. Polygodial, even at high doses, had no antinociceptive or antihyperalgesic effect when assessed in hot ...

Characterization of Sesquiterpene Polygodial-Beta Cyclodextrin Inclusion Complex
Journal of inclusion phenomena and macrocyclic chemistry, 2003Polygodial is a sesquiterpene drimane isolated from the genus Drimys, whichexhibits anti-asthmatic, anti-allergic, anti-inflammatory and antinociceptive effects. We have prepared a polygodial-β-cyclodextrin inclusion complex for furtherpharmacological studies.

Plant nutrition, growth and polygodial production of Tasmannia lanceolata
Acta Horticulturae, 2016Rapid growth of some native Australian plant species can be achieved by targeted applications of selected nutrients. The aim of this study was to examine the influence of nutrient levels on early establishment of Tasmannia lanceolata (Winteraceae) for potential plantation production of polygodial extract from leaves.
