Phase Engineering of Nanomaterials (PEN): Evolution, Current Challenges, and Future Opportunities

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review summarizes the synthesis, phase transition, advanced characterization spanning ex situ to in situ and operando techniques, and diverse applications of phase engineering of nanomaterials (PEN). It further outlines key challenges and future opportunities, such as phase stability, architecture control, and artificial intelligence (AI)‐driven ...

Closed‐loop Recycling of Sulfide Solid Electrolytes from Spent Solid‐State Sodium Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Closed‐loop recycling of sulfide solid electrolyte via a mild dissolution–recrystallization–thermal treatment process enables efficient recovery from spent all‐solid‐state sodium batteries. The regenerated material preserves the crystal structure, local coordination, and chemical states, maintaining high ionic conductivity, reduced interfacial ...

On Robust Stability for Uncertain Time-Delay Systems: A Polyhedral Lyapunov-Krasovskii Approach

open access: yes, 2005
In this paper, the problem of robust stability for a class of time-delay systems is investigated. The uncertainties possessed in the systems are assumed to be time invariant and belong to a convex bounded polytopic domain.

A Family of Sodium Solid‐State Electrolytes Based on the NaGaxAl1‐xCl4 Solid Solution

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Sodium‐based metal chloride solid electrolytes are promising for sodium solid‐state batteries due to their excellent oxidation stability, which, as shown for Li halides, can coexist with high ionic conductivity. To explore cationic substitution effects, we synthesized NaGaxAl1‐xCl4 (0 ≤ x ≤ 1) via ball milling and investigated structural and ...

Polyhedral meshing as an innovative approach to computational domain discretization of a cyclone in a fluidized bed CLC unit

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2017
Chemical Looping Combustion (CLC) is a technology that allows the separation of CO2, which is generated by the combustion of fossil fuels. The majority of process designs currently under investigation are systems of coupled fluidized beds.

High‐Power Rapid Laser‐Induced Synthesis of Multi‐functional Cobalt Metal‐Organic Framework With an Unprecedented Synthesis Efficiency

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Laser‐assisted synthesis enables rapid (within 1 h) and high‐yield (≥90%) production of Co‐MOFs with mesoporous structures, tunable magnetic and optical properties, and efficient adsorption of N2, CH4, and CO2 for low‐energy gas separation. DFT calculations elucidate the electronic structure and adsorption behavior.

Highly Anisotropic Quasi‐Direct Organic Metal Halide Hybrids: A Platform for Polarization‐Sensitive Optoelectronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
One‐dimensional C4N2H14PbBr4 is shown to have a quasi‐direct electronic band structure and strongly anisotropic transport with polarized broadband emission. A GW/Bethe–Salpeter excited‐state force formalism, supported by polarized Raman and temperature‐dependent photoluminescence, identifies low–frequency Pb–Br phonons that drive ultrafast exciton self‐

Towards reproducible experimental studies for non-convex polyhedral shaped particles

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2017
The packing density and flat bottomed hopper discharge of non-convex polyhedral particles are investigated in a systematic experimental study. The motivation for this study is two-fold.

Deforming ||.||₁ into ||.||∞ via Polyhedral Norms: A Pedestrian Approach

open access: yes, 2022
International audienceWe consider, and study with elementary calculus, the polyhedral norms ||x||(k)= sum of the k largest among the |xi|'s. Besides their basic properties, we provide various expressions of the unit balls associated with them and ...
