Effects of different curcumin concentrations on human periodontal ligament fibroblast adhesion and proliferation on periodontally involved root surfaces: In-vitro study

open access: yesJournal of Oral Biology and Craniofacial Research
Introduction: Periodontopathic endotoxins infiltrate root surface and prevent cellular adhesion to tooth surfaces. Naturally occurring curcumin has anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antibacterial qualities that promote fast wound healing by increasing ...

Composite wedge failure using photogrammetric measurements and DFN-DEM modelling

open access: yesJournal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering, 2017
Analysis and prediction of structural instabilities in open pit mines are an important design and operational consideration for ensuring safety and productivity of the operation. Unstable wedges and blocks occurring at the surface of the pit walls may be

Complexity of the Delaunay Triangulation of Points on Polyhedral Surfaces [PDF]

open access: yesDiscrete and Computational Geometry, 2003
This paper studies the expected complexity of the Delaunay triangulations of points distributed on the boundary of a given polyhedron in 3-space. It is shown that under certain sampling conditions the expected complexity is \(O(n^{1.8})\) for general polyhedral surfaces and \(O(n\sqrt{n})\) for convex polyhedral surfaces.

Multiferroic‐Centric Materials and Systems Engineering for Battery Applications: An Insight Into Mechanisms, Strategies, and Characterizations

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Multiferroic order parameters – polarization, magnetization, and ferroelastic strain – are positioned as dynamic design variables for batteries. Their mechanistic roles, practical tuning through fabrication and external fields, and ferroic‐resolved characterization routes are unified into a closed‐loop framework, revealing how coupled ferroic responses

Front‐Loading Zn2+ via Lattice‐Breathing‐Enabled Early‐Stage Co‐Intercalation for Ultrastable Zn‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study introduces In3+ into δ‐MnO2 to create a lattice breathing effect via a dynamic strain field, which establishes efficient ″ polaronic superhighways″ for charge transport. We uncover an unconventional two‐stage (Zn2+/H+ co‐insertion followed by Zn2+‐dominant) mechanism that enables reversible structural adjustment. This approach simultaneously

Halide Perovskite: A Rich Source of Thermal Insulator

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Halide perovskites exhibit ultralow thermal conductivity driven by intrinsic lattice softness and strong anharmonicity, falling below conventional defect‐engineering limits. Weak metavalent bonding, A‐site rattling, and dynamic octahedral tilting drive phonon scattering to the Ioffe–Regel limit, where wave‐like tunneling replaces particle‐like ...
